Seriously, who ever liked Mark Zuckerberg? Elon seemed likeable early on, but who thought Zuckerberg was someone to look up to? Facebook was initially a website to decide which girl was the most fuckable in your college class.

I did when I was an early teenager, I practically worshipped Steve Jobs as well. I thought Silicon Valley was objectively bringing humanity forward into a new era of happiness and egalitarian prosperity. Then I started reading and learning not to accept what manipulative people say at face value. You know, growing up. So many people never make it to the “growing up” part.

But people liked Facebook when it initially became mainstream. And they made a movie about zuck where he was painted as some comp sci genius and great entrepreneur. That was so long ago though.

Did we watch the same movie? The whole plot was that he was making a conscious choice to rip off his friends and colleagues for his own enrichment.

Its astonishing that almost half the population of the USA continues, in every poll, to rate Donald Trump and Elon Musk favourably. And this is after Musk’s triumphant angry Nazi salutes. People say that fascists are a small minority in the USA, but the polls suggest otherwise.

A big part of the problem seems to be people treating political parties like sports teams. As long as their team “wins,” they don’t care, even if the reality is that we all lose.

The American school system is rated much more poorly than most other countries with an educational system In place… We lack proper education with critical thinking… The people who benefit from this are the same ones trying to dismantle the education system even further…

All this is amplified by the brain rot of social media and the use of them by other countries to influence a wide spectrum of a population never seen before…

Ai also makes people dumber… And less able to think for themselves

              Thank you!!

The methodology is actually pretty good, though I don’t understand why, for a computerized survey, they only chose to survey 0.0015% of the population.

I feel like they could’ve easily surveyed more people.

It’s actually a relatively large sample size, enough to get an accurate survey, and increasing it further leads to diminishing returns in terms of improved accuracy of the result. You don’t need that many people to get an accurate survey. If you play with a calculator like this one you can see that this sample size for a US population of 340 million people gets you into the region of 99% confidence with a 1.8% margin of error.

But is that sanple diverse enough to reflect the overall demographics of that total 340 million? Like accounting for geography, race, etc?

I’m surprised Zuckerberg is more disliked than Elron. Though Zucker has done some weird shit lately taking Facebook culture right wing, he’s been way less of a public pain in the ass than Musk. He’s been widely known as a dislikable figure for longer though.

Zuck never cared to develop a following like Musk, so it makes sense that’s there is a not broad passive level of dislike.

Not surprised to see that the intense dislike is much higher for Musk though.

Musk at least tried to pretend to be one of the “cool and good” billionares. Making fun tech, cool cars, the real world Tony Stark. Zuck never did.

And now Musk’s fans are licking his boots with Trump for a penny to trickle down to them.

Zucker kinda somewhat tried to do that with the “metaverse” thing. He pulled it off very poorly and it was a stupid idea in the first place, though.

There’s something ongoing, though. If Trump didn’t think he needed him still, or didn’t have some reason he’s forced to keep him around, he’d just tell Musk to fuck offsame as how he fires appointees, doesn’t follow through on other contracts and stiffs people on bills.

The cool thing is, you can affect these people directly.

    Don’t use Meta products.

    Don’t use X.

    Don’t buy a Tesla.

    Don’t get Starlink.

SpaceX is a conundrum since they aren’t really selling things directly to consumers, but still, for the most part here, people can vote with their wallets and their time. (Sadly they won’t, but they can).

True with most things. Although facebook creates shadow profiles for everybody, through websites with the tracking pixels. It allows them to “market” toward people that don’t even have registered FB accounts. Diabolical stuff

me giving an eight minute answer about how there is no creature in the karmic cycle of rebirth more deserving of contempt, devoid of the most basic essential life force that binds all other creatures on earth, wouldn’t spit on if on fire, continued failure to be devoured by locusts basically single-handedly disproving the existence of a just creator, etc.
