Also /lib is where some people keep discarded capitalists
Also [email protected]. Not a lot of Zeppos out here.

That’s what I thought too. This is directory structure, not file systems.
/home is often on a separate volume. You’d want root to be available in a maintenance situation where /home may not be mounted.
I don’t recall the reasons for the addition but /media is newer than /mnt.
It’s very simple to have multiple desktop environments installed. You can select which one to use from the login screen, or launch X from a console and then start the DE from the command line.
It would be no problem to remove the office software you’re not using. I doubt that’s connected to any other packages through dependencies.
I assume because it’s more customizable.
I meant how Facebook chose a different logo than the commonly accepted one.
That’s the problem, they’ve changed the logo in part to make it more welcoming to Patriot Dog Mommy 🇺🇸✝️
It’s slightly askew, so neutral in the Pentacle-Pentagram spectrum. That wouldn’t matter to “PATRIOT DOG MOMMY 🇺🇸🇺🇸✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸 MAGA 2024” on Facebook though. Obviously Satan.
It also looks kinda like a pentagram, which might not work given some of their userbase.
The commercial real estate market is pretty screwed at the moment.
This is a kind of confusing headline but apparently it means that rice farmers lost their crops.
Generally you own what you post, but you have given a license to the site to display and use it. In the US, social media sites are protected by something called Section 230. This allows sites to display user-generated content without being liable for legal issues related to it, as long as they do a decent job of trying to moderate clearly illegal content.
I’ve barely ever used threads, in a large part because they don’t have a fully functional website and require use of an app. So I have no idea… I assume there’s some quality content but I agree that it must be flooded with BS too. I’d be interested in seeing what a Lemmy instance connected to threads looks like. I assume it would wreck browsing ‘New’.
Mr @zuck is there any chance of you reading my messages about my request for 2M$ man i have been trying every day to contact you and waiting for your response since last 5 months . I have told you why i am asking you for 2M$ i dont know if you ever read my messages but in short you are the only who can make it happen and if there is someone who can give me 2M$ its only you so please read my messages and please make it happen for us and change our lives I am waiting for you since last 5 months .
Looks like the exact same bullshit as facebook and twitter. There might be better examples of good or bad posting though since Zuckerzuck’s posts are especially spammed out, since splammy people think they’re especially good for visibility.
Well, let’s see what the ToS says. sh.itjust.works here.
Legal:
TBD
Oh.
As far as any legal liability, no, unless you’re successfully anonymous (VPN, tor, etc)
I still wonder why they did that, like, what was the rush? Wasn’t like Twitter was all of a sudden going to be good again if they waited.
I assume a dog humping a vegetable (sorry, fruit), the way dogs like doing that to just about everything.
It gives them the ability to compile data on people of the fediverse, though. They might not get the same depth of information as if we used their websites directly, or nearly as much as from their apps, but they still get usernames and comments and whatever other data they can deduce from that from any instance they’re federated with. Of course, if they were really interested they could just scrape it.
That’s a US-only extension mainly used by Facebook and Twitter members.
