On the day Kirk was shot and killed while onstage at an event at Utah Valley University, Mickens posted a quote from Kirk on her private social media account after work hours from her personal computer, according to the lawsuit.
“‘I think it’s worth it. I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. — Charlie Kirk,’” the post read. It did not include any commentary from Mickens.

Or leave Android altogether and get a Linux phone. You’ll have more control but it won’t be as slick.
At first Google does plan to offer something called “advanced flow” that will let you install what you want. But this doesn’t address the chilling effect for developers (some are just getting out of Android rather than registering and paying Google), or the censorship power it hands to Google to make “undesirable” apps harder to obtain and install. And there’s no guarantee they won’t just withdraw “advanced flow” one day.
https://developer.android.com//developer-verification/guides/faq#advanced-flow
The best way to avoid it is by installing an OS that doesn’t include the developer verification component.

Technology@lemmy.world•Companies Are Throttling Employees’ AI Use Because It’s Too ExpensiveEnglish
71·6 days agoMaybe you’re confusing tokens with the “credits” you pay for. Tokens have a technical meaning, but some companies are charging per AI credit, where they don’t tell you the conversion rate of credits to tokens, so they can change this at any time, or vary it between models, etc.
Billionaires are ruining it. Don’t let the NYT shift the blame.

3·8 days agoI think you’ve missed the point a bit. It’s “better” only from the Nazis’ point of view. Stuart Russell is not saying that it would be better. He thinks it would be worse, because people or AIs being better at Nazism is worse for the world overall. He’s saying AI is a threat to the world because right now it’s in the hands of people (many of them fascists) who ignore the dangers.
Here’s the whole thing without paywall:
