This is the best summary I could come up with:
Queen Margrethe II has signed her declaration of abdication, ending her 52-year reign as Denmark’s longest-serving monarch and ushering in her eldest son Frederik as king and head of state.
Many children and some adults wore homemade cardboard crowns and all-in-one warm suits, holding red and white flags in preparation.
At 3.30pm, the royal couple will ride by carriage escorted by Guardhussar Regiment’s Horse Squadron to Amalienborg where they are expected to be greeted by crowds lining the streets.
Wearing red capes, crowns and holding signs of support, royal super fan Rikke LaCour, 47, had organised an entire day-long schedule for her friend Karin Beukel, also 47, to celebrate.
Holding a handwritten cardboard sign that said “Fredrik X king of the people”, LaCour said: “We will stay here until they leave then go back and have some champagne and cakes with monograms and then fireworks.”
The anti-monarchy group Republik Nu (Republic Now), which says it has received a surge of support since the abdication announcement, is planning to unveil a protest banner at the proclamation of the new king.
The original article contains 855 words, the summary contains 179 words. Saved 79%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
This will completely shift the balance of power in Europe, King Frederik X is a genuine Navy Seal, by far the most bad ass royalty in Europe.
But he appear to be a generally nice guy, so the rest of Europe should be able to breathe easy. As long as you don’t piss him off! 😋Assuming this is a joke,I love this comment.
It’s a joke, I’ve added a smiley to show as much. But the parts about the King being a nice guy and a Navy Seal or rather our equivalent to it are true. He passed the toughest military education we have.
