Interesting. We used the free localstack at a previous job and it kind of sucked. Mostly we were trying to do S3, and it made adding a lot of files kind of painful. Looks like this has better support for “I need to load a bunch of files into S3 when I start working”.
Can you map a directory and subfolders to S3 with this, or so you need to make calls to “upload” everything?

There’s still going to be an opportunity cost. You can build massive renewable sources, but powering a data center with it is a shit use compared to other things.

Oh that reminds me of when I was like 4, one of the neighborhood kids convinced a bunch of the other kids to eat some of those cicada exoskeletons they leave on trees. I did not, but I’m pretty sure some of the other kids did.
It’s things like this that make people say Luigi is a saint. There are people just clearly doing awful things with immunity, and there’s no lawful mechanisms to deal with it.
So… How do we remove this guy from office?

Part of being conservative (ie: authoritarian) is being extra loyal to the in-group. I think it’s like in their brain chemistry and structure. They will almost always yield to the authority figure for their in group.

It faces the problem where even if people like the policy, they’re emotionally invested in being Republicans. Also many of them don’t want social programs if it means non-whites benefit. I think those people need to be dragged into the future. Find a way to let them be decent and save their stupid face.

The book “Dying of Whiteness” is fascinating and depressing look into this. Many people would rather personally suffer and die than let the out-group have something nice. They don’t want healthcare for all because that means black people get it.

Leadership are mostly idiots. They don’t know how work gets done. They think like “wow it produced so many lines of code!” and don’t know that’s not a useful metric.
My job had Microsoft do a four hour copilot demo for the entire team last week. (Surely an immense expense. They won’t pay for most people to be full time with benefits). The guy used copilot to make a regex to parse html. A little surprised zalgo didn’t show up.

None of the fines for these things are enough. It should be, like, the company is nationalized. The leadership is sentenced to years of community service and barred from working in the industry for life.

Everything from the right is a confession. A projection. They are stupid selfish people that struggle to understand other people.

“Our new policy is simple: If you, an American warrior entrusted to defend this nation, believe that the flu vaccine is in your best interest, then you are free to take it; you should. But we will not force you,” Hegseth said in April.
Hegseth is a profoundly stupid person who should not be entrusted to make any decisions. He should be removed from power to spend the rest of his obscured life cleaning up litter or something similarly useful.
I try to prioritize the rare thing. Friends meeting up to play Frisbee in the park? Hades2 will be here when I get back. Let’s go.
But I’m also kind of a cheapskate, so if they were like “let’s go to this fancy dinner and then a cocktail bar” I’d probably skip. Luckily most of my friends don’t really have expensive tastes. $6 beer at the local bar, maybe a hangout where we bring $10-20 of snacks and drinks.

That’s also a problem, yes. DRM free is best. I’m extremely reluctant to pay for a game I can’t play offline as much as I want. (Barring MMOs and the like, I guess. Don’t play a lot of those, myself)

All the wealth is being concentrated in the hands of too few people. I’m not going to buy a $120 game when my salary is down, or I’m just laid off.

A bunch of monsters are all going to be at the same place at the same time, you say?

It’s a demand pointed out the entire capitalist hellscape, of which epic is a part, not them specifically.
Sweeney’s a billionaire. He could be pushing for labor to have a bigger slice of the pie. But he won’t, because he’s a soulless husk.

I don’t have the personal budget to buy a lot of games. Pay me more and I’ll spend more. Otherwise, fuck all the way off
Recently my lead hypothesis is that many people would rather personally suffer and die if it means that black people have it worse. I read “dying of whiteness” recently, and it’s haunting. “It’s socialism” is just a coded way of expressing that.
