Attention based algorithmic social media, and the MAGA Media ecosystem, are what’s keeping Trump in power. It’s literally all just attention and propaganda. The sooner opposition realizes that, the sooner this rot can erode. But that’s not going to happen as long as political leaders keep waving their hands around about policy or “we would’ve won if we were more/less liberal, or if X person ran!” No, it wouldn’t have done squat.
In other words, voters are monkeys addicted to scrolling. We can’t help it, and that needs to be understood like the MAGA ecosystem already understands it.
At this point, it’s more than corporate media keeping Trump in power. He has the institutions on his side, so most liberals will do nothing to stop him. They’ll refuse to recognize that removal by force is the only way they can get rid of a dictator, so we’re stuck with Trump till he dies.
