Elon Musk’s action are not his own and there are clear intentions behind them. They were planned over the last decade by Silicon Valley megalomaniacs, most notably Peter Theil (JD Vances mentor) with the intended goal of collapsing US democracy and replacing it with an autocratic system where its run like a corporation.
Elon is doing the dirty work and putting his face on it but there is a wider network of people behind it. His intended goal is not to cut government funding. It is to literally collapse the federal government.

There’s a great Behind the Bastards episode about Curtis Yarvin that really fills this all out.
The Broligarchy is real and Vance is the gateway to the fallback. Elon is just a willing idiot to be the tip of their spear first.

They’ve been very openly talking about this for the last decade, it’s not even sneaky. Technocracy and meritocracy and government-as-a-business have all been buzzwords and all been outed as bad ideas by the experts, but the buzz keeps growing among the money crowd.
I will confess that I personally thought they were too stupid and rivalrous to pull it off.
Unfortunately they’re so stupid and egotistic that they’re giving it a red hot go anyway
Twitter was both an ingredient and a practice run
And at the same time he ran it off a cliff
Yeah, I know thesr people are evil, but they’re NOT geniuses, most of them are borderline mentally removed. Most of them just got VERY lucky, especially musk.
Yeah, I’m sure they’re up to no good but a lot of it is just still messing about forward
And there’s nothing that anyone can do to stop it because the country gave a self-proposed tyrant and election rigger into office. The view right now is someone who won the majority is in power and is doing exactly what was expected. Don’t be surprised
There are still things that can be done. Elon would really like it if you thought it was hopeless to stop him, because then you wouldn’t try. He is just a human. If enough people actually tried to stop him, he wouldn’t be able to resist.
For clarity, a lot of the things we can do to stop him aren’t strictly legal, especially with the law in the hands they are. Some of the ways that would work are ones I shouldn’t endorse in a public space. But we do still have options.
