Yes, and we call ourselves Anarchists or left libertarians because the right specifically and intentionally stole that term

American libertarianism is interely coherent. Religious nutjobs and large business owners want state power to go away because churches and corporations will gain that power.
I’d say there’s a difference in the libertarianism of the charlatans and their marks. One is simply a facade for technocratic fascism, the other is an incoherent fantasy that thinks capitalism will create a utopia if we just stop regulating it.
Orchids feed on a micorrhizal fungus, which grows on the bark of certain trees. While it might be considered symbiotic, the orchid requires the trees it grows on to produce the fungus. The tree stays healthier due to orchids, however the orchids have no function nor biological reason or initiative to limit the growth of the fungus. The more fungus that can thrive within the tree will be beneficial to the orchids. Because of this dynamic the eventual death of the tree, due to the fungus that feeds the orchids, will allow the orchids to thrive to the point of propagation, spreading their seeds in the soil to reach the surrounding trees, which have a high probability of having the required fungus for them to feed. And this the process of death and rebirth continues from tree to tree, but the same line of orchids continue by jumping from corpse to corpse.
This comment is not about orchids.
I’ve spoken to many libertarians and I place them all in one of two categories.
A) they want slaves
B) they want child brides.
If you talk to anyone one of them long enough you reach a point where it’s like “people could sell themselves into slavery” or “age of consent is really a social myth the person should decide if they are ready”
don’t forget racists who want to smoke weed legally

That symbol in the black ball are roman fasces, which is where the term “fascism” comes from. I think you can infer what that means for the comic.
Fascism. That’s the sigil of the Italian fascist party, and their paramilitary were known as the Blackshirts, hence the black.

Only talking about right wing libertarians because they’re who this meme is clearly about, and left libertarians have very little in common with fascists.
Theoretically libertarians support individual freedoms including in the face of social and religious institutions. Their platonic ideal would support women’s and queer liberation, personally oppose racism (but would support every individual’s right to be bigoted). They’d be in favor of the right to use drugs. They’d oppose religious power. They’d believe minorities and women should arm ourselves. They’d be pro abortion, transition, and whatever else you want to do to your body. But most importantly they’d want the government to stop getting involved in your life, and that would be especially true when talking about cops.
Now, these people are rare these days, and some of these points were always unpopular amongst them. Back in the day they used to talk about wanting a gay married couple to defend their pot farm with guns. But they courted and cooperated with the technocrats, the theocrats, and the rest of the right. They refused to build ties and intellectual conversations with the libertarian left and so they slowly stopped believing in a lot of these things. But most importantly a lot of them are pointless contrarians who don’t want to do intellectual work or analyze their emotions. When their bigotry was challenged they decided they’d rather be bigoted than be free. Also the ideology always was incoherent, but let’s be honest, that’s never stopped an ideology before.
They’re mostly fascists now. And part of me thinks we’re the worse for it, because society does need a strong group of people saying “I don’t have to like it to stand for your right to do it” in order to be free.
Regardless of how it’s explained, there’s a flaw in any libertarian philosophy that still makes this meme true: Not wanting the government to get involved, means as a rule they don’t support laws preventing other people from being discriminated against either, which sadly is proven to be something that needs to be done in human societies with historical inequality. Any theory that ignores the capacity for illogical/inequitable factionalism and cruelty is a fantasy at best, it always leaves a path towards fascism
