The US needs to get a Ukraine lethal aid bill passed. It has been bogged down too long. Funding American companies, to pay workers good wages, to create arms for Ukraine to blow up the invader is a win-win-win.

Republicans are bought and sold to Putin via the NRA and the RNC server being hacked in 2016. It’s not going to happen.

Congressional leaders and the President should be talking about that right about now.

      Israel comes first.

They need US support to commit their genocide against a much weaker military.

Ukraine will just have to get by because checks notes, Israel’s sovereignty is better for the world than Ukraine’s.

What a shitty world we’ve built for ourselves.

Over two days of talks in Brussels, NATO’s top officers are expected to detail plans for what are set to be the biggest military exercises in Europe since the Cold War later this year.

While I understand the importance of showing might, this was a bit underwhelming compared to the tile of “NATO top officers schedule war game.”

These things happen a lot more then people realize.

Does this mean Biden is positioning to enter the Ukraine war? Would probably help his numbers in the upcoming election against Trump.

Not since late last year they’re not. They spent early 2023 winning back the north of the country, then had a summer counteroffensive which captured essentially 0 of the East, then over winter they got nothing in terms of the ammunition and weapons aid they’d need to have to fight against an opponent which can outproduce them 20:1. They’re now desperately trying to hold the front line even though after 3 months of nothing they’re basically out of ammunition.

The big aid packages out of the US and EU are stalled apparently indefinitely. There’s that little package from the UK which hopefully will help a little, but unless the GOP stops being compromised by Russia sometime soon, it seems like they might be in real trouble.

It’s so fucking dumb that Ukrainians didn’t mine their border out of fear that it would look bad on the world stage.

They really got played for fools by the people who now withhold help from them.

Remember when they were promised protection for de-nuclearization? I bet they feel pretty stupid now for getting rid of nukes and not setting up robust border defenses.

Hopefully, we can remember this and cite it in the future whenever a nation is in a similar position.

Russian has access to nuclear and other “illegal” weapons. The use of these weapons are generally agreed to be illegal because they are not limited to the target they are fired at. Russia has indicated in the past they are considering nuclear and other chemical weapons in Ukraine. Assuming that those in power know more than we do would indicate an increased fear of a new or illegal weapon about to be used.
