“Today, I’m proud to sign landmark legislation expanding on my administration’s work to make Illinois a safe, empowering, and inclusive place for the LGBTQ+ community,” Pritzker wrote on social media. “With my signature, we are a few steps closer to a state where all can live their lives without fear of hate.”

Pritzker then posted a video of himself touting the bills as he prepared to march in Chicago’s Pride Parade. “It’s very important to me that we have a state that stands up and protects the people who live here,” he said. “So I’m very happy, very proud, frankly, to live in the state of Illinois. I hope you are, too.”

Oh wow! The USA has been such a pit of despair about this recently (especially in the Midwest). It’s really nice to see this beacon of hope amongst a hateful pit of a region.

For him to be a billionaire means he exploited workers for profit. He did one good thing, it doesn’t make him good.

      Broken clock and all.

You literally admit you don’t know what you’re talking about and you get 20 up votes

Damn, this is an echo chamber

Either you don’t know what literally means, this comment was for someone else, or you struggle reading plain text.

If you made a billion winning the lottery multiple times did you hurt someone? What if you mined 1k coins for cheap in 2011?

              That hypothetical does not exist.

And that’s the difference between a millionaire and a billionaire

Idk there’s some odd Bitcoin owners out there. That being said, this was mainly in jest (I should be clear)

Though I would like it more if people cited claims for the accusations. I feel like it would travel a bit further then “money” = “bad” Especially in a capitalist country I find it a bit one note.

We gave most of our coins away to Sean’s Outpost.

Again, that’s the difference between a billionate and a millionaire

He’s a billionaire only by hurting others, he did this bc he’s lining up for a 2028 run. He does nothing for anybody but himself, hence billionaire status. It’s 100% all for show! Like pausing gas and grocery tax during last reelection period, only to then start up again once he secured his victory… That gave him an unfair advantage any opposition couldn’t do.

That’s long term planning. Respect. Visiting prides over 20 years ago, being an ally for decades, everything for 2028! This man is a genius!

If a bad person has the intelligence and foresight to consistently do a bunch of good things to gain our respect so that we vote for them, and continue to do those things while in power so that we continue to vote for them, why should we care if they are a bad person?

Pritzker was secretly about to cut taxes for a whole lot of data centers to be built, and got called out by the competition. Turns out his private equity firm was invested in several of those tech companies and stood to make a big profit off it all… Then all the sudden he makes this big public announcement that they’re pausing these plans for data centers or whatever it was recently, to look like the good guy. He only backpedaled because he was caught.

The HUGE pica law (protect IL communities act) is a joke, banning a bunch of guns while his family owns a range just over the border in WI where you can legally shoot all those banned guns. Not to mention Pritzker Corp used to own a gun parts manufacturer. So, a little 2-faced and will call it an investment strategy im sure, but still.

Don’t let the facade fool you, he’s no better than the rest… He’s just had not time in public light and knows how to schmooze people better. That’s the whole thing his campaigns based on, “not Trump” and people will gobble it up unknowingly.

Edit: let me remind you everyone thought Elon was great and ambitious with Tesla, his Mars objectives, boring company, then Dogecoin (up until 2021ish)… All the while being not a great person but did stuff for positive spotlight. Now with a lot more influence, can get away with so much more than before.

Well, that shows the importance of scrutinising every action of all our public officials. He is clearly doing everything he can get away with.

However, the Elon comparison is a bit much. Let’s compare him to a more representative billionaire like Bill Gates, who polished his rep for a little while with huge seemingly philanthropic actions, until getting caught being a massive creep and a much less generous philanthropist than people thought.
