With out context this is an absurd statement. Even with it probably is. Are you saying you can’t get a mortgage with 250k in the bank? Because that’s bullshit.

Edit: My point is that $250,000 should be enough to at least get a small 1 bedroom apartment for myself without needing to get a loan. The cheapest 1 bedroom apartments in my area are $400,000-$500,000. That’s a ridiculous price just for a super basic Hole-in-the-Wall apartment.
