I haven’t been watching much in terms of actual shows for a good while, then while listening to a podcast a host casually mentioned they had rewatched Chernobyl, how it still holds up, that there’s a reason it got as much acclaim as it did, etc. So I thought I’d give it a go and wow, loved it (still one episode left to watch).
Had me thinking, what else have I missed out on? What are some “absolute cinema” TV shows that still hold up and and are considered must watch?

Been enjoying “From”. Need to catch up with the current season.
From is only hampered by its bad acting, directing, writing and theme song. Other than those obvious and ever-present problems, I’ve watched every episode.
I’m just happy to see Harold Perrinou do something other than running around the jungle yelling “WALT! WALT! WAAAAAAAAAAALT! WALT! WALT! WAAaAAaaaAlt!”
I spent the first three episodes yelling “Walllllllt” for him.
Now, instead of yelling walt, he repeats things. For example, “Just calm down. Just calm down.” It’s rough writing.
Edit: i like the actor, and given a good script and good director, I think he’d be perfectly able to turn in a magnificent performance in something.
It’s a running joke for my wife and myself whenever someone asks “Are you OK?” to yell at the screen “Naw, man, I’m pretty fuckin’ FAR from ‘OK’.”

But yeah, Perrineau was great in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. People also forget he was in the Matrix Sequels, which get a lot of hate, but he was good!
