    It might be to combat the algorithms they are used to fighting against. These words get posts removed automatically almost everywhere but here.

      There is no such algorithm on lemmy. If you’re interacting with a platform that forces self censorship like this…maybe don’t.

        There is a replace filter on lemmy that replaces words in a configurable list with removed, though. I would argue there is some kind of algorithm for this present albeit visible rather than the invisible hiding of entire posts.

          Yes, there probably is one in that regard. I meant that an algorithm doesn’t curate your feed for engagement; you can sort posts in several ways but there is no tuned algorithm feeding you posts to keep you scrolling.
