You can mod things on Linux, it’s just slightly more of a pain because you have to usually manually place files in the right locations, since the mod managers are kinda hit or miss on Linux.
That being said, I was recently able to mod Minecraft and Valheim pretty extensively with mod managers (I forget which one for Minecraft, but I used r2modman for Valheim which worked great), and I got the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition mod manager working enough via wine that I could mod that too.
I could make so much cassoulet with $3000
Seriously, ten bucks won’t even cover delivery costs and fees for most things on Uber Eats. It’s almost worse than nothing, because with the gift card you’re obligated to give even more money to Uber Eats
Harry Potter is sort of the Classic Lays potato chip of the children’s book world. Dependable, reliable, not the most exciting in the world but any stretch, but easily snackable all the same.
They’re easy to read, not super deep, and because of that, probably got a lot of kids into reading who otherwise wouldn’t have, and there’s something to be said for that. It’s unfortunate that the author turned out to be a bigot the whole time.
China and Russia are now picking up the countries America pushes away.
Pretty sure North Korea has been allied with China and Russia for way longer than the US has been “pushing them away”.

James Cavallaro is a law professor that teaches or has taught at Wesleyan… And also Yale, Columbia, and UC Berkeley. He’s currently the executive director of the University Network for Human Rights, and before that founded the International Human Rights and Conflict Resolution Clinic at, uh let’s see here… Oh yeah, Stanford.
Also, Wesleyan University, by the way, rivals Ivy League schools as far as academic rigor goes.
You trying to diminish the validity of these organizations would work a lot better if you bothered to Google them for five seconds first.
Add me to the shit list
anything we can do to push gaming into Linux would help it to become a better everyday OS
I feel like the SteamDeck and SteamOS have already done more for Linux gaming than ChromeOS ever had the potential for.
Sounds like he doesn’t want to spend his time tinkering, but playing.
Ehhh, I feel like this person is a tinkerer, it’s just the things they wanna tinker with don’t play nice with Linux.
Installing a modded version of Minecraft indicates a desire to tinker. Roblox is a game based around the concept of tinkering. EA games (especially ones from 7 years ago) require some level of tinkering even in Windows.
Compiling to bash seems awesome
See, i disagree because
I don’t think anyone other than the person who wrote it in amber will run a bash file that looks like machine-generated gibberish on their machine.
Lol I barely want to run (or read) human generated bash, machine generated bash sounds like a new fresh hell that I don’t wanna touch with a ten foot pole.
Thanks, you have a good one too
But the inconvenience to you is the same, and that seems to be the thing you have a problem with.
You’re taking issue with squatting, even though the effect on you is exactly the same as someone legally renting - ie, you can’t occupy that property. So what’s the big deal? How does a squatter steal from you, and a renter doesn’t? If the only difference is some legal definitions, maybe the two aren’t that different after all.
If a squatter is squatting somewhere you want to live, sure, yeah, you can’t live there. Just like you can’t live there if someone else is already renting it.
The way you’re describing it, it seems like to you there’s no functional difference between someone paying to live in a property you want, vs. squatting in a property you want. You’re looking through your own personal lense only, and consider things that inconvenience you as “evil”. It’s a prime example of the “fuck you I got mine” mentality.
How is it theft of property? Theft usually involves taking something material away from someone. If the property owner has left their property vacant, having a squatter there doesn’t change anything. They’ve gone from making no money on their vacant property to… still not making money on their property.
And don’t say “the squatter is preventing the property owner from making future profit off of the property”, because now you’re not talking about theft. Profits that don’t exist yet can’t be stolen.
What’s the harm in squatting, as long as they aren’t damaging the property, and the property is well and truly vacant?
I find it much easier to cook scrambled eggs in a well-seasoned carbon steel or cast iron pan. You can do it in stainless, but it’s definitely more finicky.
Imagine that, people don’t mind when they have to wait 10-15 minutes every once in a while for their game to update, but they do mind waiting 15-30 seconds every time they navigate to a new webpage.
