So let’s burn the gifts? I don’t think I’ve ever received a gift I lit on fire.

Fwiw, this article says the name of the app is Clue. As a dude, I have no need of such an app, but as a security minded individual, will encourage my female friends to use it if needed and hope the developers continue to have security in mind.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has blocked a bill in the state that would have banned law enforcement from enforcing search warrants for menstrual data stored in tracking apps on mobile phones or other electronic devices,
And as a Virginian, I will once again vote against the enemy of security and privacy: Glenn Youngkin.
Can’t wait to hear more from Trump about “rocket man”.
I know personally my enjoyment of reading dropped like a rock in my tweens & teens. Too much schoolwork and over analyzing of books in school got me burned out. I made up for it in my late 20s-30s though.
My daughter has been better so far in this regard, but now that she’s in high school I can tell she’s getting closer to mirroring my feelings. She’s switched to Manga/graphic novels instead of long form novels and that’s helped a bit, but we’ll see if that keeps up in the years to come.
I still don’t know how people manage to fray those things. I used my 2013 for 10 yrs and the cable is still like new. They’re built pretty well. However, I do appreciate that the new ones are just usbc cables that plug into the brick so you can swap the cable if it does start to wear. Or so you can use MagSafe cables on non-apple power supplies.
Why does NK hate the ocean so much? They keep launching rockets at it like it killed their dog or something. I can’t wait for the day the ocean retaliates against them.
SLAMMED!
It’s a support question. It may cost $2k more for a Mac, but if it’s officially supported, auto patched, remote managed and they can prove it with security tools, force patching and restrict users, use standard well known tools for compliance and security monitoring/administration/etc, they will easily save thousands in corp licensing, training costs and legal costs. That $2k+ really becomes negligible.
MacOS. Systems doesn’t want to support Linux, and the only other option is windows 11. A few of my coworkers have Win11 with WSL and fight it every single day. They’re diehard windows people who have been seriously considering moving to MacOS for their next round of upgrades.
Please let them be directional, pointed down, lower output and on light waves easily filtered out for night sky viewing. Light pollution is getting worse and worse for no real benefit.
So you’re saying there IS a way!
Absolutely, but he’s rich so it’s okay.
Weren’t they already? I seem to remember Trump and “Rocket Man” talks and such the last time he was in office and MAGA was down for it.
Doesn’t make it less fucked up, just that there’s a lot of that to follow.
I think you missed (or ignored I suppose) part of his statement that data caps can reduce overall (across multiple subscribers in an area) used simultaneous bandwidth. People say “I can pull 1Gbit/sec, but I know I’ll hit my cap if I do that perpetually, so I’ll just do short bursts here and there when I need it”. This puts people in the mindset not to push their max data speeds all day/month long. Doing so reduces the possibility that everyone in an area (likely using the same data backbone) will ask for all their speed at the same time. This means that the backbone can be smaller and support a higher number of subscribers.
I completely agree on not having much choice though. And thats really what needs to change in many places.
Defenestration is Classic Russia.
The problem is that people won’t move until their audience there and their audience won’t move until they are there.
And mastodon is a bit less straightforward compared to old Twitter.
There’s insufficient surge or Mtn Dew in this picture, it’s got to be a photoshop.
To be fair I think most people think it (and other countries) should be able to defend itself… it’s just that they went from defense to all out genocide like a year ago.
The current party doesn’t know where that line is while the other party wants them to “finish the job”.
Damn, hash browns sound great right about now.
And as a DevOps engineer, I’m going to be hungry every time I deal with passwords and api keys now.
I’ve often wondered if the authorities would care about a community run FOSS plate scanner network that publicly advertised the location of all government vehicles. I mean, it’s public data, right? A nice web front end with built in pattern detection shouldn’t be too bad. Plate scanners can be built with Raspberry Pi’s, so it’s fairly cheap commodity hardware. You’d need a good number though. Coupled with additional hardware, you could put them on cars as well I suppose.
