Yeah he’s got the exhaust-end of the launcher rested against his shoulder, so when it launched, all that heat and pressure was directed at his shoulder

“Mach 10 missle” lol okay
HIMARS is just the vehicle, GMLRS is the munition, and they are not anti-aircraft
This is specifically about the DPICM rounds:

“The original M77 has a relatively high dud rate (about 5%), and the M85 is a derivative with a self-destruct fuze to lower this rate significantly (< 1%).”
We consider 5% to be a high, unacceptable dud rate. These submunitions were reworked to improve that to less than 1%. For each rocket dispensing 544 submunitions, less than 6 would be duds on average. I think cluster munitions have gotten a bad rep overall (not that it hasn’t been deserved) but you’re right, this is apples to oranges.
Ultimately the call didn’t cost them anything. I think if Piastri hadn’t already pitted a few laps prior, making a call on his tires would’ve been much more critical
It is frustrating though to see Lando ask for the softs, get denied, and then have to absolutely drive his heart out to keep his very well deserved P2.
I definitely think knowing what they did at the time, pitting Piastri was the right call. I’m sure he realizes that too. I think they’ve had some serious improvement with their upgrades, and I have no doubt he’ll get his chance at a podium
