I forgot about Altered Carbon! That first season was amazing, and it’s borderline criminal how shit the follow up season was.

I don’t know why they didn’t just take a timeless classic Ferrari shell, stick a powerful as fuck EV ‘engine’ in it, maybe tweak the exterior very slightly, and go to town on the interior. Win.

Because why should I? If I take the time to post and it’s automatically removed without any explanation, why is the onus on me? It’s tiresome taking the time to post and then being faced with “robot says no.”

As for mentioning it, the comment is no longer about the post, but just a general observation on the tedious hoops you have to jump through online, which I thought was as worthy as any other general gripe.

Also, the guy’s comment was obnoxious so my response was equally pithy.

As keen as I am to spend my day groveling to some mod, who’s probably as charmingly direct as your good self, to determine which petty rule my entirely vanilla post transgressed, I think I’d rather just get on with my life.

Even in the UK we have a moderately left wing potential candidate for Prime Minister who’s already being heavily criticised by the right wing media.

The sad thing is that people lap it up. When I was 13 I could see that our newspapers were wildly biased. I don’t really think of myself as being above average intelligence, but at 48 I marvel that any reasonable person would read and believe that garbage.

I don’t think we can. All we can really hope is that these cynical and corrupt politicians get complacent and over-step the mark so blatantly that even the average Joe, who’s been spoonfed fox since a kid, can see that they’re being lied to.

Unfortunately I think it will be practically the end of civilisation before that happens. There will be folks dying in the street after the billionaires and tillionaires have taken all the resources, who’ll still be shaking their fists and saying “Thanks Obama”.

I like it. I’ve blocked a couple of folk, and I filter by keywords so I don’t accidentally wander into a community where they hate me because I’m not fully aligned with people who identify as a LINUX distro or whatever. It’s nice.

Despite having a very nostalgic soft spot for my 16-bit and 8-bit home computers, these labs do nothing for me. I worked in so many as an technician at a uni and in various other tech support roles in my 20s that these generic cream boxes leave me kinda cold. Give me an Amiga, an ST or even a ZX Spectrum any day. Probably cos I’m old AF 🤣
