Thanks, that’s good advice. I do plan to start small and simple.

Honestly, I’d love to do something like that. Unfortunately I live in Korea, and my Korean is fairly limited, so I would mostly be lost. But maybe if I get good enough with it, I can organize get-togethers in the local immigrant community.
Okay, great. Thanks for the Youtube recommendations. I’ll make some time to watch those channels, for sure.
That’s a funny coincidence. Happy printing! Let me know how it goes. But yeah, some other commenters suggested I get a filament dryer, which is probably a good idea.
Thanks for the thorough comment. I’m looking at filament dryers now, and I’ll definitely get some cleaning stuff as well.
Awesome, thanks for the advice. I’ll definitely check out his channel. Designing stuff myself still intimidates me a little, but I suppose the best way to get over that is to just do it.
Not scary at all. Thank you for the thoughtful reply. It’s good to try and be realistic in my expectations. I’m excited to learn new stuff and see myself improve.
Thank you, that’s all good to know. I’m looking at filament dryers now, and the prices don’t seem too outlandish.

Autism@lemmy.world•So I wrote a blog post about the way neurotypical people will sometimes treat me like an alien being.
1·2 months agoFirst off, I love your username. Secondly, you’re right. It’s a generalization. For the sake of clarity, I could have written it as, “Most neurotypical people don’t learn masking to the extent that neurodiverse people generally need to, because the natural behaviour of neurotypical people is more readily accepted by their peers and society at large. Hence the moniker neurotypical.”
The thing is, I don’t really edit my blog posts. I just write a thing and hit publish. I thought the subject matter might interest some people in this community, so I shared the link. I didn’t think about it very long. It is absolutely appropriate to call me out for a poorly-worded assertion, and I thank you for the feedback. I will keep it in mind going forward.

I am not in the US, no. I live in Korea. But I’m sure I can find something similar here. Thanks.
