Unfortunately, the stock one will be the only one with even a sliver of privacy preserving measures (so far). I tried Swiftkey when it first got released on iOS, and not only did it just not feel right like the stock one, it was also bought by Microsoft at that point and I hadn’t known since the last time I was on Android, they did not own it. :/

I’ve been using Firefox since I was a kid 20 FUCKING YEARS AGO. Not ONCE have I went to another browser for anything, and I look shit up constantly, pay my bills through Firefox, and everything between the two.

I understand the retaliatory bullshit would definitely scare more people than we should allow. Say your entire department decides “Fuck that. I’m taking my two days off.”, what would that do as a whole? Would they retaliate on all the people or just the ones who they know need a job more than others?

I’m not dumb and think that that’s even possible, because organizing is a lot harder than we’d all like to admit. I’m just genuinely curious about how that would work out long term I guess.

With how predatory the “dating” market apps are, I think something like this would be wonderful to use to find friends or love in a way that doesn’t prey upon loneliness. Honestly, I am not immunocompromised and I still wear a mask because I haven’t gotten sick since the pandemic started, and it even helps my sinus’ when I’m cleaning the house. I’ve never been one to worry about what someone thinks of me, so I’m sorry if this comes off as tone deaf, but fuck ‘em. Why should you care about what they think about you? When was the last time you thought about that person who was doing something you thought was strange in the local mart? I will assume not until I just made you think about them. Live your life as safely as you want. I have had some problem with some Distros not appreciating Windows being installed first, and some distros require more hoops to be jumped through to get it working than others, but dual booting is worth it in my use case and therefore is a requirement to even have Linux on the laptop to begin with. I love it to bits, but I bought the laptop to game!
