I prefer that everything that touches my skin to be woven cotton. I don’t like tight clothes and wicking material is evil. Knit, polyester, or those sweat clothes that have a fuzzy inside are itchy and aggravating but wicking material is pure concentrated evil in physical form. What’s most comfortable is a tee and gym shorts. Jeans replace the gym shorts to go out. If I have to dress up I typically wear dress pants from a “work brand” like Dickies because they are a bit thicker and looser than most dress pants.
You remember the static that was on tv channels with no broadcast signal? That completely overwhelms my brain and pressure builds in the back of my head until it feels like it’s going to explode.
Was diagnosed in kindergarten but parents didn’t want the stigma, the school said I was too high functioning for anything to be done, and it was small town Appalachia so the diagnosis just disappeared. I was diagnosed with Asperger’s in my early twenties. I imagine I’m a similar age to you based on when Asperger’s became a diagnosis.
Kbin has upvote, downvote, and boost. Boost comes from the microblogging side, kbin does both content aggregation like Lemmy and microblogging like Mastodon. On the content aggregation side boost counts as 2 upvotes and it functions as normal for the microblogging side. Kbin.social is the only Kbin instance I used, I expect that it works the same on other Kbin instances and on Mbin but I don’t know for sure.
Op is talking about accounts that upvote spam content. For the most part those accounts will be the spammer’s alts that will be posting spam when the current account gets banned. Blocking them while they are still being used for vote manipulation means you wouldn’t have to see their spam in the future.
That’s way too much work. I just logged into my original account on kbin.social and tapped on the activity button to see votes before that instance went down. If I want to see votes again I can set up an account on any kbin or mbin instance in less than a minute and do the same thing.
TV tropes has a few categories that cover this. They don’t limit the disorders to autism in most of the categories but the examples are more autism than anything else.

I’ve seen Highlander, you can conceal a full size katana in the inside breast pocket of a trench coat. You can even go for a run with it there and the coat will flap and move like the sword isn’t even there.

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, did not have wmd’s, and was the only major Sunni power in the region. Saddam Hussain was not a good guy by any means but he actively worked against Iranian influence and was a stabilizing presence on the middle east after the first Gulf War. Pre-invasion Iraq was good for US policy. The invasion led to the growth of Iranian influence in the region and the rise of the Islamic State terrorist organization. We should not have attacked Iraq.
I was in support of attacking Afghanistan at the time and still think military action to go after Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Ladin was warranted. The diversion of resources from that conflict is another reason we shouldn’t have attacked Iraq. We probably should have extended that conflict into northern Pakistan where we knew Al-Qaeda’s leadership and the bulk of their fighters were hiding.
We definitely should have invaded Saudi Arabia. They provided training, equipment, travel, and money to enable the 9/11 attacks. 9/11 would not have been possible without Saudi Arabia’s support. Saudi Arabia was(is) in the curious position of publicly allying with us while plotting terrorism against us. Curious because by siding with us publicly they gave up Iran’s advantage of attacks against them potentially leading to conflict with Russia. Iran had some part in 9/11 but between their having a lesser role and the risk of Russia coming to their defense it would not have been worth it to attack Iran. Saudi Arabia had our backing instead of Russia’s. When they used proxies to attack us we should have leveled their royal palace. So far we haven’t even pulled our support.
I started on kbin.world and really liked it, there are several features I much prefer on Kbin vs Lemmy like being able to see the activity log for comments and posts. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend new users start there anymore. Ernest is awesome but it seems like he’s got some stuff going on IRL and he doesn’t seem to want to share development responsibilities. He was accepting some more help and putting together a small team so maybe it’s gotten better since I switched to lemm.ee but especially back around December and January there were periods where he was absent for extended periods and issues weren’t getting fixed until they had some time to snowball into big issues and he was stuck spending more time on playing catchup from that than working on improvements. I didn’t try Mbin but it seems like that might be the better choice for the time being if someone wanted to start using that part of the fediverse.
To be clear, Adam Smith thinks that the protesters who were arrested for sitting at whites only lunch counters were fascists and the people who violently attacked them were defending democracy?
Honestly, I don’t get it. I saw the total eclipse in '17 and I’ve seen a couple of partial eclipses and they weren’t particularly exciting. I live about 10 min outside of the total eclipse path and I’m not even sure I’m going to walk outside for it. What am I missing? Why are people spending thousands of dollars to see it?
A new version of Mbin was released I think yesterday. Maybe it has something to do with the update.
