The thing I hate about this is trying to understand what the better option is. At this point I’d be happy to see twitter banned in this country - we all know it’s full of hateful and violent rhetoric - but then you run the risk of all the assholes in that particular square getting out and further infecting other sites which aren’t as vitriolic.

I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I don’t hate the idea of national service.

I feel like a nation that has a basic first hand knowledge of the army may be slightly better prepared in war time.

I have other reasons as well but sadly not enough time to elaborate right now.

I’m always happy to have it pointed out to me why my opinions are wrong, though, so have at me if you think it’s a terrible idea.

I do understand that this in itself is an appeal to the voter base, though. They don’t give a shit about the outcome of making it a thing.

We had a chance at this back in 2010. I even voted for the Lib Dems. I know people were sick of Labour at the time, but damn did they fuck up by ConDemning us all.

I would love nothing more than PR, but just like Brexit, you can’t underestimate the will of the British public to continuously vote against their own interests.

I’ll believe it when I see it. We’ve managed to keep these idiots in power for 14 years longer than we should have - I still have plenty of doubts.

That whole comment amused the hell out of me because that’s what’s happening here. I live in South Tyneside and our bin men have been on strike since before Christmas. Nothing to do with the council running out of money, but down to one of the higher ups being a huge workplace bully and the council won’t kick him out.

It’s gotten so bad that there are now several skips dotted all over South Tyneside where people are expected to turn up and dump their overflowing rubbish.

The whole area is turning into one massive tip all because of one asshole the council refuse to do anything about.

I worked for Yodel back in 2011-2013. Honestly, I’m amazed they’ve lasted this long. Absolutely horrid company to work for.

My girlfriend works for a private company instead of the NHS and she hates it on a moral level, too, but it’s impossible to work for the NHS and keep your sanity. Be it the working conditions, hours, or pay. It’s a shambles and it’s all because we - the stupid public - continue to be suckered into believing it’s good for us.

Not to mention that the left is fractured. We all want progress, but can’t decide on exactly what progress should look like. Meanwhile conservatives only have 1 real option: Tories.

I’m convinced at BEST we’re going to have another hung parliament with the bastards ultimately staying in power.
