I printed some stuff that I thought was cool and just put it up on Etsy early this year at a price that would be worthwhile for me. I was shocked when the first order came in as I never thought anyone would buy it. Then the orders kept coming in and I’ve grossed about 6k so far on Etsy. It’s nice that all of my hobby equipment and filaments are paid for and that’s all I’m looking for.

I continue to randomly list stuff that I think is cool. Sometimes they sell and sometimes they don’t and that’s fine. I don’t do SEO or research keywords or advertise. If I get bored of selling prints one day then I’ll just stop.

And printing is the least time consuming part of the process. It’s the packing and taking it to the post office that takes up the most time.

It’s the cheapest PLA that I could find at about $10 / roll, made in the USA, ships pretty quickly, and nearly all rolls print without issue. But this is the second time I’ve seen a bulge like this, so it’s not bad luck. There’s some quality control issues.

$45. I’m 100% ok with spending $45 after 3000 hours. So far I feel I’m getting good value for my money both with the printer and the parts.

I noticed that towards the last couple of hundred hours it started to clog/jam a lot more. I thought the gears might be wearing but it looked ok upon visual inspection. I wonder it’s an early warning sign. I only print PLA and PLA+ so nothing abrasive.

They’re 125x125x125. I was able to personalize the boxes with the x1c with AMS.

I think they took around 4-5 hrs each. About another hour for the personalized covers.
