Wait til you hear how the internet is funded.
Why hesitate? They went through the trouble to sow the seeds, tending to them carefully to ensure strong growth, and now that they’re finally bearing the fruits of their labour they don’t like the way it tastes? They want to take it back? Tough titties. Russia has sown a lifetime of hate, and that’s exactly what they’ll reap.
Why not wood? I guess progress is funny like that. We reach the end of one era where we’re masters at one technique, only to leap to the next era where we’re completely clueless using a new one. I’m sticking with wood, it’s been good to me lol.
About a hundred years too late. Good riddance. ✌️
’Seems an appropriate time to remind everybody here that doctors skew conservative politically, this is especially true for surgeons, for what reasons I do not know. This isn’t my opinion, I read some articles referring to a study about it, and want to share. Feel free to roast me below if I got this wrong.
It’s pretty simple actually. Big companies took billions upon billions of dollars in federal subsidies and grants handed out to them via taxation of the public, then when they got just about done building the thing they spent all our money on, they erected a nice shiny gate at the front and charged us admission. But not before bribing donating to criminals politicians to ensure zero competition or risk to their non-investment. It’s rampant capitalism defined.
Because material conditions are consistently hovering juuust above revolt levels. If we want a massive sweeping change, shit will get worse first. People will demand change, but I believe a large portion of society will have to be starving and on the streets before we consider movement that actually does anything to change the status quo, due to the risk of death.
Yeah, Squid. That was uh… the joke.
Kind of like when George Carlin said ‘if you want better politicians; make better people.’
‘Friends’ was one of the biggest tv series in nearly every country, it’s not just good ol’ American hubris, nor unimportant news to people throughout the world who enjoyed his work. Artists who are known around the world make headlines all the time, no less when they die, obviously. I certainly doubt anyone would read of Patrick Stewart dying, only to rush to the comments to say how irrelevant this British actor’s passing was.
Came from reddit and I’m still here. Maybe I’m the only one planning to stick around, but probably not.
May be an obvious thing to everybody else, but what do you mean by spook? Where I’m from we’re careful using that word.
What, did you forget the freedom fries? You damned pinko.
Unless you’re talking about the Amish, you’re giving us too much credit. We could choose simpler lives, but the reality is we will continue to do business with the worst of the worst if it makes our lives even a modicum more easy, because that’s human nature. We don’t realize long term risks well, we’re programmed to dodge snake attacks; not greedy snake-like other humans.
There’s similarly awful things going on all over currently. Wildfires, bleached corals, oil and toxic waste spills, flooding, catastrophic storms, it all gets to be depressing. But the good news is that more people than ever are aware and ready to make changes. I just hope enough of us are ready to live small lives in tight-knit communities where we don’t rely so heavily on consumerist BS to live.
You ever heard of ‘time and place?’ Like when you’re on line at an ice cream shop; it’s not the time, nor the place to whip out your genitals and take a fat, farty shit on the floor… On account of you’d look like a crazy ass hole. If somebody then called you out, and you proceeded to smear the shit all over your face, you’d look like an even bigger, crazier ass hole. Get it? Your above comments are kinda like the verbal equivalent to smearing your own farty shit all over at the wrong time and place. Nobody cares if you do those things, but maybe do them amongst other farty shit boys in your own venue, so you don’t stink up the place, 'ya know what I mean?
