The US doesn’t benefit, but a few privately owned corporations and a handful of already way too wealthy monsters benefit.
But since they own the US government, it doesn’t really matter if the other 99.998% of people in the US, plus 100% of Palestinians suffer.
I’m not entirely sure about millennia, but capitalism has been around for at least as long as currency has. That too has changed names but the idea of whoever is born with the most gets to steal the most is older than all existing civilizations.
Everything has to appeal to everyone, because it’s not enough to make lots of money, they have to make all the money.
This is why I say capitalism is to blame for pretty much everything.
You said greed twice. Or you said capitalism twice.
You mean extended unemployment, seeing people turn medical fact into political beliefs, not having the opportunity to spend time with the few people that don’t annoy me, and day drinking?

But it is killing jobs, and that’s what’s important.
The biggest hurdle with getting widespread adoption of any scientific breakthrough is cost. If something is not more profitable than the current way of doing things it will not be adopted. Destroying our planet is pretty damn profitable, so until we exterminate capitalism I don’t see anything changing.
