I have voted blue in every election since Obama McCain, despite not liking a single one of the General election candidates, and I phone banked and primaried for Bernie twice.

I don’t blame those who sat out. The only reason I don’t is to maximize harm reduction so I can look myself in the mirror. I blame those that voted for Trump for Trump.

We have a center right party and a fascist party, both hypercapitalist. You can scream at democratic socialists like me and other leftists, but in my entire lifetime, we have never had a party platform to enthusiastically vote for, only against the worst of 2 terrible options that embrace economic inequity and are well bribed to do so.

And singling them out as the worst offenders for doing nothing on election day while people voted FOR the fascist has just ensured keeping those that decided to disengage stay disengaged, because the neoliberals that run the Democrat party seem to hate leftists even more than Republicans, and say the same thing every cycle to them.

Because at least Republicans believe in our herp derp “free” market capitalist economy, amirite? I wish that commonality our supposed leftwing party has had with Republicans for ages, but especially since Reagan, would tell you something…

Because a society shouldn’t be comfortable with an economy that by design leaves so many of its people “losing” so hard they’re dying of exposure on our streets, let alone BOTH of our only 2 political parties that matter. But we aren’t a society, just a bunch of rugged individuals at each other’s throats fighting for the owner’s ever dwindling scraps.

I’m kind of surprised by this.

You’d think he would have been popping Ozempic like candy since it came out.

I never thought sanctions and embargos were so all encompassing and effective to such a spectacularly granular degree that it literally effected the despotic leader’s creature comforts and not just their people.

As an example, despite any embargo, I’d expect Putin would be able to get any expensive Kentucky Bourbon he wants flown in via secondary channels while his people suffer.

I know this labels me as a bad person, but I can’t really root for us anymore. We were handed dominion over paradise, but it was never enough, and even now, as the writing is on the wall, most of us lament our plight rather than the innumerable species, different but not inferior to homosapien, living in generational homeostasis that we’re going to take down with us while singing woe is us.

I reject rooting for such a vile home team, merely because it is the home team.

I take infinite solace knowing that while we will decimate surface and shallow water life, even our toolbox of horrors can’t sterilize our mother, and after she’s dealt with us, she will heal in just a couple million years, nothing to her 3.8 billion year old story of life, and paradise will be restored, until the next macro-cancer evolves at least. We weren’t even the first, though we were the first that we know of with a choice. The Carboniferous period gave way to an ice age mass extinction due to trees doing the opposite of what we’re doing, capturing too much carbon before the life that could decompose them efficiently had evolved. This is where much of our lovely coal comes from.

Wasn’t their fault. They were trees. We can do better, we know better, our brightest have been begging us for a century to heed the data, we just won’t stop.

I’ve legit told my present supervisor that literally works 14 hour days by choice and brags about it that I pity her for it.

Many drink the Kool-Aid in an attempt to pretend they like their exploitation, giving their mind, body, and soul to profiteers who wouldn’t spend a nickel to put you out if you were on fire.

Worse, the ones that fully accept the madness proudly, the ones that internalize the toxic your workplace productivity is your life mindset, often end up being the low level management arbiters demanding incoming hires at the very least pretend to do the same, even if they’re screaming inside, hi!
