    Fair enough.

    I know you’re not directly asking me for advice, but I guess one thing to keep in mind (Regarding why moderators are shitty sometimes)

    Is that literally anyone, ANYONE, can make a community. It’s also not a paid like job or anything, (Which I know you are aware of that fact also)

    So they aren’t beholden to anyone or anything regarding their ‘practices’ no accountability. So they literally don’t give a shit really. There’s no pre-screening required or emotional equity test performed in order to be an admin or a mod.

    So you’re gunna come across a lot of uptight, mentally unhinged people who more then likely lack, or have zero control of their own personal lives. except for their community or instance on lemmy.

    That ends up turning out with the issues you’re dealing with. They end up taking content or comments they don’t like personally. And lash out with the removing and banning with zero follow up.

    They don’t even hold themselves accountable for their own actions. So of course, unfortunately, you won’t get an explanation.

    If you ask me, people seriously need to chill the fuck out. Lemmy doesn’t pay your bills ok. It’s a hobby. It’s supposed to be fun

    I mean my God. It’s just taken to a limit sometimes that it doesn’t even need to go in.

    You’re good I know you’re not complaining like that because once you do start posting, it’s gunna get kinda annoying that no one else does.

    If I were you, don’t link to reddit in your posts. You can do that in our community [email protected] we don’t mind that because well it’s reddit shit lol

    I don’t think most instances would like that, so if I were you, when you see a political reddit post you want to share here?

    Click on the link from the reddit post and copy the link directly from the news site, and paste it in your lemmy post. That way it goes directly to the news site if someone clicks and not to reddit so you don’t get anyone complaining to you.

    Maybe get with db0 on how to do a reddit post automatic bot. They should be able to advise I would think

    You can either do a reddit post bot, or post the links yourself, or post content yourself.

    I get the frustration, bc it frustrates me to (not with the politics category though) But what annoys me, is all everyone does, is downvote everything that isn’t anime, video games, Linux and politics, and then they also don’t post anything themselves either.

    I’m not directing this towards you, but they complain about lack of content but don’t want to post any themselves

    Yea, no problem sticking their hands out for content, complaining about it, then either downvoting, leaving shit comments, but then offering absolutely nothing themselves.

    I don’t get it

    Story time

    So this is back when the API thing was going on with Reddit I have been using Lemmy for almost 4 years now on and off. So I noticed all these new instances.

    Anyway I went to theirs and I read their sidebar and I said you know they’re about open speech and people with differing ideas and stuff and I was like “all good cool that’s what I’m looking for.”

    The I begun noticeing a lot of scantily-clad anime shit to which I blocked of course. That shit’s annoying. I am just a person who fucking hates anime altogether anyways, and that’s one of the reasons, is anime makes them look like little girls and shit.

    That started to become like real consistent on their instance and I was like “Man this is annoying”

    Eventually i ended up on a discussing post from what i remember it being, I forgot how I ended up on this post, but I started reading some of their comments and I was like “Wait a second? What the fuck are they talking about?”

    I screenshotted what they posted (I was looking for it I can’t find it I have 3 thousand screenshots. I did try looking for it though) and posted it asking for opinions about what it was ppl on that instance were talking about, on my home instance.

    I asked the community “Are these people fucking pedos!?” everybody was in agreeance and my home instance already had then blocked. Which was awesome.

    I’m glad they’re gone I actually went ahead and deleted my account there when I saw that discussion they were having. I didn’t just want to leave it and never come back to it. I don’t want any association with that shit.

    I deleted my account on their instance after I found all that out and you would think that the anime shit would have been a dead giveaway for me.

    But I was naive. I didn’t know that the fediverse you can kind of have instances like that cuz it’s somebody’s own server.

    I thought all that shit was banned on the internet altogether like even discussions about it so that was really weird for me and I wasn’t expecting that I was kind of shocked honestly.
