Slightly off-topic, please excuse the question:
I’m new to Fedora (and Linux Desktop in general) and saw the update for 40 yesterday. Is it save to simply hit the update button and let it do the update, or should I take any precautions, or anything afterwards which is expected to reset (settings, applications, etc? idk).
Data and such is savely backed up. That’s not a concern.
Double edged sword, but yeah.
Acquisitions don’t need to pay for themselves. Ideally they do, but sometimes it’s enough if they just help the company’s main business stay in business, or grow.
IBM is making $30bn+ in gross profit each year.
It’s disgusting.
And even if you go out of your way and dismiss morals, ethics, and international law, who in their right mind thinks that’s a good investment? These properties, the whole region, is rife for conflicts and terrorism for… decades. Now more than ever.
You too can easily trick these shitty little towns out of their ticket farming money. Just follow the rules like everyone else.
10/10 people who feel the need to say that the rules are for others are exactly the kind of people the rules are for.
I hear you. It’s amazing how much some company’s code / projects is allowed to suck.
Not even “my” tiny-little-side-module inside the project source recompiles within 20 seconds… because of absurdly complex and large dependencies to the actual project code.
Most likely the mic is simply powered by the voltage which also powers the headphones.
But there’s also mics which don’t need voltage to work at all (unlikely for headsets tho).
Well, obviously someone did the math and figured out it’s better to have these titles than not. So I’d say you’re wrong.
If the title makes more people click in the first place and the amount of people who stay to read at least until they know they’re not interested, is bigger than the number of visitors if they had a normal title… the stupid title wins.
Unfortunately that’s not just gaming related news, but all news (and non-news).
It’s by design. It leaves you wondering (and ideally click on the article).
What I actually would like to know if journalists, or whoever writes the articles, are picking these headlines consciously or if they’re following guidelines. I can imagine both scenarios.
Dude shouldn’t worry. Kids will understand that he has or had a boring job with not much to talk about… and still be the greatest dad in the world. Kids don’t care about the job of their parents.
Meme answer: Changed a manual wait from 20 seconds to 18 seconds. Boom, 10% performance improvement. I can only do it so often though.
What a terrible waste of human life.
Everybody deserves a happy and fulfilled life. Not slowly dying alone in a dirty hole for absolutely nothing - led there by lies and propaganda from people who should take care of them, not waste them.
It’s just sad.
No already shut down plant has been restarted into operation. Only the grace period until the final shut down has been extended for half a year - only for plants which were scheduled to shut down this year (but haven’t been shut down yet), and only under the condition of the gas emergency status.
So I upgraded from “pro coal” to “pro fossil fuel” now? Yay. Maybe if we continue this discussion we can also get rid of that narrative.
Saying “that’s the reality” doesn’t make it a reality. You can repeat it as often as you want, it makes you look like a self absorbed jerk - because it’s simply not true. Just because it’s a nice narrative to push for you not every opponent to nuclear energy is a proponent to coal. Quite the contrary I’d figure.
The single last coal plant started operation in 2020, and none has been “re-opened”. Some are kept in prolonged reserve mode until 2024 (half a year longer than originally planned), IF the Alarmstufe Gas stays in effect.
Maybe try with some verifiable facts and stop lying.
Except nobody is advocating coal. So what do you want to turn back on him exactly?
Just because you developed a hate boner for anyone who’s not on your nuclear train doesn’t mean they’re pro coal. If you need to put words in others people’s mouths to confirm yourself… you’re wrong.
With your reaction you just confirmed what he described.
Dictatorships (or any otherwise ideology driven entities) will have their very own problems training AI. Cannot feed the AI material which goes against your own ideology or it might not act in your best interest.
Definitely not exclusive to those three countries. It’s a well stablished term in Germany as well for example.
Society is the return for contributing.
Those people happily enjoyed the benefits of their society, and now try to get around the contribution part - by spending money they got trough their position in this very society.
Everyone is free to dislike this deal, but then you should find yourself a country which doesn’t have a draft. It’s as simple as that. But they didn’t. They lived in their comfort zone and now try to get around the rules.
Last, this discussion should be about the officials who took the bribes.
Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation!
