Kenya officials hope to pass an anti-homosexuality law, similar to Uganda, with Tanzania and South Sudan also making ant-LGBTQ+ plans.

Every time you patronize Chick-fil-A, some of that money you’re spending is given by Chick-Fil-A’s owners, The Cathys which they use to fund violent and deadly “christian” anti homosexuality legislation in the third world, after decades of doing the same exact thing in the US, which sees LGBTQ in Africa, Asia, and South America tortured and brutally murdered just for being gay. They’ve been doing this for decades.

No chicken sandwich is worth the abuse and murder of gay people. Why don’t you know this, and if you do know, why don’t you care?

This is what pisses me off. I work in an office that gets daily CFA products for staff to purchase internally. I catch people who buy it and their response is “because it was already purchased by the facility to be then bought by us, it’s not bad.”, or something to that extent. Worst part is we just passed a $55k budget on it for next year :(

DEI Committee be damned. Maybe I’ll start telling them about the Cathy’s funding to this and it’ll change tune.

It won’t change their tune. Conservatives are 100% on board with CFA being as anti-gay as possible. “But it’s so good” is the conservative way of exercising their plausible deniability, claiming to not hate gay people.

The best move I’ve made since the pandemic is removing conservatives from my regular life as much as possible. My daily stress level has dropped dramatically.

I strongly recommend removing conservatives from your life wherever possible. They will not become good people. They will only continue to harm others That’s just who they are.

A radio station I used to listen to let go of one of their co-hosts because of a huge disagreement regarding this. The co-host in question was Jewish and said that if they were donating money to anti-Semitic causes he would stop going there and encourage others to do as well. But he saw no problem with going there if they were donating to anti-LGBTQ+ causes.

    tl;dr:

Kenyan officials hope to pass an anti-homosexuality law, similar to Uganda’s recent legislation. The draft law would strengthen colonial-era anti-gay laws in Kenya, under which gay sex is already illegal, with those convicted facing between five and 14 years in prison. While sex between women is not explicitly criminalised, Kenya does not recognise any kind of same-sex relationships, and there are no protections for LGBTQ+ people on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. Similar laws are reportedly also being introduced in Tanzania and South Sudan to crack down on LGBTQ+ rights, with gay sex already illegal in both countries. The US State Department’s warning specifically notes that LGBTQ+ people should cease travel to Uganda altogether.
