Fighters from the Lasar's Group special unit of unmanned aerial systems of the National Guard of Ukraine, working together with artillery from adjacent units, destroyed 18 tanks of Russian occupiers in one special operation. — Ukrinform.
They appear to have more than 1000 (perhaps 2000?) in operating condition. However they started with over 15000 tanks - most in storage and various statues of restorability. They realized over a year ago they were losing them much faster than they were able to get new ones (including restored) and had to make hard decisions on if any use of tanks was worth risking what was left.
Note that at least some of the 1-2 thousand probably isn’t in Ukraine. It includes tanks used for training (if any), and tanks scattered around the country because they could be attacked anywhere (probably Azerbaijan is not that stupid, but they might be)
