This isn’t a perfect analogy, but imagine you were driving 25 mph over the speed limit and a cop gave you a ticket. You’d be upset but you’d know that you deserved it. Now imagine that you were only going 1 mph over the speed limit. Now if you got a ticket you would be angry because it was such bullshit. I think carrying out a seizure over

five pairs of military camouflage trousers and several camouflage nets

is more like the second category than the first. I’m not expressing sympathy for Russia here; I just think that pushing them even the tiniest bit closer to doing something really stupid isn’t worth it when it doesn’t lead to any military advantage.

Nobody cares what Russia thinks tho. As way Russia doesn’t care when it does cyber attacks on Lithuania. It is a geo political stand off. The point is to make Russians uncomfortable. They are lucky they are still permitted to cross NATO territory. Force these clowns take the Baltic 🫢

Officers saw contraband confiscated it and state is running as propaganda now.

Your analogy would be so great if that slightly too fast driver wasn’t a drug smuggler.

Also, rule 1: Sympathy for enemy combatants in any form is prohibited.

I’m not sure that “piss off Russia for no reason” symbolism is helpful. So much support from the West is gated behind “don’t piss off Russia too much” that frankly this looks like a waste of the provocation budget.

It’s not for no reason. Russians are breaking transit agreements, and they only get a slap on the wrists
