They’re the reason why the Bradley has such a high kill count on those Soviet tanks in the middle East.
There’s also a reason why the US Army had to be forced by Congress into buying more tanks instead of replacing the Abrams with IFVs. The next generation will be reintroducing the idea of light tanks regardless.
I’m for now just curious whether Rheinmetall actually has a real chance in the competition with its Lynx variant, or if they’re going to keep it in house with General Dynamics. Either way, Ukraine is a good opportunity to just get rid of a lot of their old gear and not having to go through the process of dismantling it themselves, which is typically costly too.
