Originally, it is a Hindu chant praising one of Hinduism’s Gods. Violent Hindu supremacists have turned this into a call for violence, it is now a much feared war cry… Much like ‘Allahu Akbar’ which means ‘Allah is great’ was turned by Islamic terrorists into their war cry.
ps : The article is geared towards an indian audience, and every Indian is aware how the praise to a favoured god has been turned into a terrorist chant. There are too many incidents of Hindu supremacists forcing non-Hindus (mostly Muslims) to chant JSR and then lynch them to death.
