So it’s been five months since @[email protected] last posted and two months since he contacted @[email protected]
It’s seems like nothing much has happened and the plans for a replacement were briefly resurrected then shutdown.
I guess we’ve all moved on.
There’s a couple of threads: https://feddit.uk/post/5924434 and https://feddit.uk/post/5925286 talking about it.
Maybe a new instance with a stupid name, maybe not. Either way it looks increasingly like the end of the line for feddit.uk.
Perhaps @tom will rock up last minute for the version upgrade and it’ll limp along for another couple of months again.
Definitely time to copy your subscriptions to another instance if you haven’t already!
It was nice while it lasted.
It’s the communities I’m worried about. I set up three, which have kind of gone dormant over the last few months because I don’t know if there’s any way to migrate posts and content - haven’t wanted to post new stuff if it’s going to have to be migrated manually.
Sadly there’s no way to migrate content like posts, comments or communities.
Once feddit.uk goes down all federated access to ts local communities goes away for good.
We were setting up alternative communities on Quackhouse before the plug got pulled
