  • Nope, just relatively. Though how do you want to define consciousness could change my nope to a yes. It’s all about the definition.

All I can see when I read this comment is a plaque to blind confidence. Don’t take it the wrong way, I don’t mean it as a wholly a bad thing… maybe 90% bad, 10% admiration. Confidence is powerful, but it works best when paired with other traits.

…but back to the thread, unless you’re involved in this topic at an academic level, can you explain the reasoning behind the confidence you appear to have in your perspective?

  • Kinda off topic but I hate standard shoes because for whatever reason it’s widely accepted that we should not use our whole foot, crush the pinkie toe, and deform the foot for life. I don’t get it. No wonder so many people have foot problems later in life.

I wear shoes that allow my toes to spread out completely. Xero is what I use for now but since this is a shoe discussion I’m interested if anyone knows of others. I only wear “barefoot” shoes for reasons above. I don’t want the accessory muscles that support my foot to atrophy.

Shoe rant concluded. That said Xero does make some professional shoes I think. I wear some around the house that have no laces and are just black, cozy.

  • Wow, insane. I’m currently reading “There Are No Electrons” written by a member of the Amdahl family. In the opening pages he talks about his siblings and ascendents and talks briefly about Amdahl corp then in the opening to this article this engineer got their start at Amdahl.

Fun coincidence I wanted to share. If you want to read a book about science that sets aside reverence for science and reads more like a Sunday comic, check out the book I mentioned. Especially fun if you’re trained in electronics, tho the author specifically states the book is NOT for those trained in science, haha.

People are unpredictable. Don’t take it as a judgement of who you are, we all face rejection sometimes. It can even be good for you in doses because it helps build resilience and shows that failure is just part of growth as a person. If you never fail, you aren’t trying hard enough.

All you can do is sincerely try, if you are doing that, as well as accepting feedback and growing, the right people will notice that effort. You’ll find your people, just don’t stop trying.

I also suggest meditation, it can help you to identify the roots if thoughts as well as help you to know yourself. You may find the root of your negativity if you explore yourself.

Not an ad, I use it regularly, Headspace is a great app as an intro to meditation. Costs like $100 a year I think? If money is tight there are plenty of free alternatives.

    Wish you the best.
