  • The news loves to focus on individual Israeli hostages and victims by providing backgrounds and what they do for a living, but for the most part just lists Palestinian deaths by numbers and only occasionally includes names or family relationships.

There is one news agency, I think the BBC, which used the phrase “unprecedented attack” to refer to the Oct atrocity that kicked off the current hostilities but doesn’t use any similar phrasing for the IDF killing many times more civilians as a response. So apparently genocide doesn’t need called out in a similar fashion because it is apparently not unprecedented.

  • It sets up a likely scenario where protestors show up to to the previously scheduled time so the police can claim it is an unlawful assembly and try to disperse the whole protest.

The Met Police are attempting to delay the start time by one hour and 45 minutes to 2:30pm, despite the fact that the usual assembly time of 12pm for a 12:45pm start has been advertised for several weeks. No explanation has been given for these moves, announced to organisers at 4pm on Friday 30th August, after the police themselves cancelled a meeting to discuss the demo on Thursday morning.

  • Honestly only having two body types is the lazy part, no matter what the two types are. The best solution would be a variety of heights, weights, shoulder, waist, and hip sliders with boobs and butts and whatever else as add ons to the body shape. That should cover everyone as long as there is plenty of range on each option.

Unless everyone is in armor, in which case two or three gender neuteal body types are fine because boobs and butts won’t be noticeable through armor anyway. Height is pretty much all that is different if everyone in the armor is in decent shape and the armor is made to fit a range of people.

So we’re trapped in a world where a good bunch of the allistics don’t care enough about us to learn how to communicate properly with us or to, at least, find a middle ground.

I don’t claim or even think I am autistic, but the inability for people recognize that just speaking clearly and directly would be better all around is infuriating. They seem to have some kind of reverence for people knowing all the ‘subtle clues’ that are based on what cultures someone is familiar with and based entirely on excluding others. Understanding the reasons why doesn’t make it less annoying when the same action could mean different things in the same culture in the same context depending on what is in somebody’s head.

Social cues are annoying and inconsistent even when they are understood. Most people just don’t think about it actively and just change their behavior based on anyone correcting them without thinking about why something is ‘the norm’.
