I’m really into Computer Science too.
I got a degree, then spent a year job searching to end up working customer service; carrying drinks up and down stairs for a few months. I eventually got an internship doing programming.
It’s nice to finally have a job in something that I’ve been interested in for a long time, although now I guess a very large amount of my time is spent using computers. Also, even if it pays more, I suppose writing code where I don’t even fully know what it’ll be used for feels less “rewarding” than serving customers.
Perhaps it’s simply because there’s less benefit to more obsolete stuff that there’s less pressure to study it, thus it’s more fun?
When something becomes a job, it becomes less fun. It’s often good to keep work and hobbies somewhat separate.
Great comment.
Not sure why Steam Play isn’t on by default.
Never assume victory.
One of the biggest disadvantages that you can have in a war is to have no idea that you’re fighting one.
Mario being such a big part of my childhood makes it sad that stuff takes like 100 years to enter public domain.
I wish it was 20 years.
Imagine how much easier fan games, modding, and emulation/preservation would be!
Galaxy was amazing!
Interesting. Thank you.
Edit: Is this the video?
It amazes me that she nonetheless came so close to keeping her seat. Who voted for her?
I don’t like how it was a labour landslide. I hoped it would be more balanced with the tories getting fewer seats than green if any.
Instead of trying to screw over our country any more, why don’t you just go and enlist?
He probably just wants to bring the whole party down with him.
Often, I loop some music such that it becomes slightly annoying for me, and tell myself that I can’t turn it off until I do the task. I’ve heard of something called “Autistic Inertia”, which states that we have a lot of difficulty starting to do something, but can easily keep doing it once we started.
Another thing I sometimes do is set micro deadlines. Eg: If I finish getting ready before 8:30, I can have a short break, otherwise I go directly to the next task which I must complete by 9:30. (Though I might adjust the time if I am running behind)
Something I remember hearing is “Don’t wait to be motivated to do stuff, or you won’t get anything done.”
Edit: Added some YouTube links for some videos I remembered. Not sure if they’re the best references, but I guess they should be helpful.
I would. There’d hopefully be an exodus.
If you’re going that far; just ban gendered pronouns altogether.
“But my reality is how it’s always been” - Torys
Fully agree.
Better than nothing I guess.
Yes. Wouldn’t say “weirdly” though.
I dislike crowds.
I often get tired of the idea of that I am a being that can be observed.
I like looking at nature and daydreaming.
Forests feel unrestricting without feeling too open.
I would probably feel somewhat uncomfortable living too far away from any kind of forest.
Personally, I understand developing and embracing AI (specifically Machine Learning what people refer to as AI keeps changing), but I hate how everyone is basically stealing everything that’s public to train their ML models. In my opinion, that should be illegal depending on what the model is then used for. I heard of a concept called “glazing” where content is given edits to make it harder for ML models to learn from, but I don’t know how effective that will be. There really needs to be better protection from companies using all your data to train their stuff.
I do often like to observe nature. Also, when I was younger I’d sometimes feel like there was something trying to speak to me through various song’s lyrics that played on the radio.
I don’t really make too much effort to remember my most of my more recent dreams. I definitely dreamed last night, but I can’t make much sense of the events. I think it was representing minor anxiety? There was something about taking a small train to a clearing in a forest I think? Something about playing with my cat?
It’s often nice to take a break to collect your thoughts and daydream.

Pretty sad though.
