If the things I’ve been reading over time are true, the Mexican Army had been having a tough time fighting the cartels because the cartels had military weapons and some ex military leaders.

But recently, the army has been far more effective because their training has been more focused on combating cartels, and those ex military in the cartel are dwindling in numbers.

I knew it was bloody and thousands had been slaughtered, but I’m so surprised they fought back. I never learned they actually had the chance to. So many survivors and observers too. That’s reassuring.

It means that the Chinese know their government is not omnipotent. That’s why all legal communication is unencrypted and monitored. If citizens were allowed to communicate as they do in the West, they’d be able to organize and overthrow the CCP.

That’s what they are afraid of. The people aren’t afraid of the mechanized power the PLA has, and as demonstrated in 1989, the power is in numbers. If the CCP doesn’t wipe out all memory of Tiannemen Square, they are doomed. But the CCP can’t. Unless they cut China off from the rest of the world entirely, the knowledge will remain. The CCP can only get stricter and harsher, speeding up the time for a pressure cooker to explode. They know this. The people know this.

At some point in the future, they will go too far, and the people will end it.

First, I love the name “little pinks.” Seems way more insulting than tankie. I’m gonna call em that now.

Second, online Chinese nationalists have always made me chuckle. They get bent so out of shape about the atrocities the Japanese committed against them, but if you mention the millions of Chinese killed through the many actions of the CCP they break and end up with a mashup of “those were justified for peace and safety” and the Japanese have and always will be cruel because of what they did.

I’m pretty sure the US is only interested in doing that to protect US assets in Israel. There’s a shitload of money and intelligence there,

1948 is a big stretch for me to agree with “isn’t new.” No one alive today would have been influential then, and many countries have significantly changed in that region of the world since 1948.

Now if stuff like this happened in the 80s, then I’d say yeah, 100% this is up their alley.

10 years ago people called me insane for suggesting that after the F-35, new fighters will be drones. 3-4 years ago people thought it was unlikely that an F-35 would really end up being a command center for for a “swarm” of drones.

The limiting factor in a fighter is the human. You can’t pull more than 9Gs without knocking out the pilot. You can pull all of the life support systems out of the aircraft too. Eliminate the cockpit all together.

You know what’s kind of odd. These deep fake things people are using are usually online ones. As far as I know, there aren’t any public models that are being used for deep fakes. I’m sure you could make them with the right hardware, but that’s a lot of heavy lifting.

There’s plenty of generative AI models for creating porn. To me there’s a red flag people are ignoring by using the deep fake apps/websites. It gets tied to the uploader whether they say it’s private or not.

Given that she’s still alive, does that mean she works for the cartels or does that mean the cartels have determined she’s not a threat? From everything I’ve read the only real remaining power in Mexico is the cartels, and I honestly don’t even know how accurate that is because no one I know has actually been in Mexico in the last 5 years or so

Usually a hard deadline means something quite literally can’t go beyond that date. Like “hey guys, Kursk literally has all our food, if they don’t get it back by the end of September we’re probably going to all starve” or “Kursk has the only insulin stock in the whole country, we’re gonna have a lot of dead diabetics”, “take Kursk back or you are all fired and heading to the front” and in this scenario I’d even settle for “if you guys don’t take Kursk back, I’ll glass the area as a nuclear test site.”

Deadlines can’t be hard if there are no consequences.

Edit: I mean if it were me being a stupid strongman dictator I would totally nuke an enemy controlled region within my own borders after designating it a test site. If any of the nukes were still working of course.
