Like blowing up a daycare because someone you tortured said Hamas was there? At least the Mossad is actually in the building.

How about turn the evidence over to secular authorities for prosecution?
Ukraine ought to bomb this:

I doubt the average Russian gives a shit about P-wad’s expansion ambitions. Make the fight personal to the culprit.
“I don’t want them leaving the building … I don’t want them walking down the road for a cup of coffee." Dude… I would pay money for a cage match between this wanker and the Starbucks CEO (commuting by private jet wanker). Ideally, they’d mortally wound each other.
I was trying to say that tools were better about letting us know that another developer was modifying the same file as us, so we would collaborate in advance of creating the conflict.
I use git daily and still wonder why I had fewer merge issues on a larger team in the 1990s with command line rcs on Solaris. Maybe we were just more disciplined then. I know we were less likely to work on the same file concurrently. I feel like I spend more time fighting the tools than I ever used to. Some of that is because of the dumb decisions that were made on our project a decade or more ago.
When we get to the point of communicating with them, will I get in trouble for telling them to sink yachts?
Sounds exactly like what Putin would want him to do. I don’t think that is a coincidence.
Candida Auris is incredibly difficult to get rid of in a hospital environment. I saw a headline about an outbreak at a Dallas, TX area hospital a few years back, but they wouldn’t name the hospital because capitalism.
Just in time for hurricane season. Supposed to be a doozy this year. Will anyone rescue their poor sailors when the inevitable happens? Will we see an entire ship defect?
With my luck, I would only get my surgically removed wisdom teeth back.
When Ministry for the Future starts to happen sooner than expected… poor people
Another example of why Threads should be required viewing for all politicians.
The Joycons were an absolute disaster and ruined the portable experience. I got 4 of them repaired. When they inevitably broke again, I gave up and bought a pro controller. Precariously balancing the Switch on your lap or setting it on furniture so you can use a pro controller is not a handheld. Still had lots of fun with the games on it, but the experience should have been better. Nintendo has building controllers for decades, you would think they could at least begin to approach competency.
In other news, 2023 broke 2022 record for most carbon emissions ever. 2024 will break that record again. Renewable energy is just added to the energy we consume. No displacement on a global level (if some country uses less, the oil companies just sell it to the next eager market). We won’t see meaningful declines in emissions until the population begins to fall instead of grow, crops fail from climate chaos (starving us), and most importantly we begin to run out of carbon to burn. I fully expect to see solar-powered oil wells extracting oil that would otherwise have a negative EROI.
The other bad news is that completely displacing oil would require more of various non-renewable resources than exist on Earth. To get where we need to go, we will need a decline in lifestyle, and covid already demonstrated how unwilling many are to that concept (staying home and wearing masks to save lives was too much of a burden for many).
I do dumb things like edit my network configuration do some stuff and log out. Then I can’t login the next weekend because the IP address is wrong. Also:
Ifconfig eth0 down
And I am booted from ssh.
Thanks for posting this. I have been trying to remember the name of the Itanium occasionally for a while now, but have heretofore been too lazy to google it.
My 5G phone’s internet sucks compared to the Spectrum I have at the house. Spectrum sucks compared to the Frontier fiber alternative, but I am currently in the Spectrum part of the cycle of having to alternate between them to avoid paying 2x as much. I think Spectrum is starting to realize that they suck because there full rate for my current plan is only about $5 more than Frontier’s promo rate. I imagine they are hoping that I dislike switching enough that I’ll eat the extra cost to avoid switching. If Frontier would just let me have the promo rate all of the time, they would get more money from me, but I guess too many people are too lazy to switch for them to do that.
What if my program is objectionable?
I have done quite a bit of C, C++, Ada, and Pascal development. I recently got into Rust. I am still getting used to Rust, but it feels a bit like someone tried to apply Ada to C++. I like the modern development environment, but I am slower writing code than I would be in Ada or C++. The one feature of Ada that I really like and want other languages to adopt is the Rep spec. I write driver code and being able to easily and explicitly identify which symbol corresponds to which bit is really good.
