I don’t think that case is a good comparison to a bunch of leftists taking up arms against the state. That was protestor on protestor violence and involved two people. Had nothing to do with a bunch of Americans standing up to a tyrranical government at once. Some better examples would be MOVE in Philadelphia who got bombed, and the black panthers in California who got the Republican led government to make laws against the second amendment. Still, I think these groups were too small, we just need more people.

The best thing to do would be to legalize and regulate cartel-related drugs. The cartels would not be able to compete if the war on drugs was ended, basically.

Not only would it have the effect of weakening the cartels, but it would also lead to a lot of harm reduction, because drug addicts would actually know what they are putting in their bodies.

A good example of this is Marijuana being legalized in most of the US, and its effect on the cartels. The cartels have almost completely backed out of the cannabis trade, because they can’t compete with the quality, price, and convenience of being able to buy weed legally at a store.

To add on to this, many people who do commit horrible acts against children aren’t pedophiles, in the sense that they are sexually attracted to children. Many of them are sexual sadists who are aroused by the act of inflicting pain and abuse, instead.

At this point, I think some American politicians and policy makers are afraid of Cuba surpassing the US in living conditions if the embargo is dropped, and Cuba is given a fair shot. A thriving Cuba would serve as fodder for a leftward push in politics in the US, and I don’t think any of the lobbyists or their puppets want that, at all.
