  • We do and we dont. Almost 350 million people have differences of opinion quite frequently. Thankfully most of the world thinks our positives outweighs our negatives.

Either that or they are too weak to stop us in any meaningful way. We’ve seen how many genocides over the past few years from superpowers and no one does anything? Only way you’ll see a real check on America or China’s power is through a world War which everyone rightfully wants to avoid.

  • I couldn’t figure it out from the bit of the article i could see before the pay wall, but is it stated who they license the content from?

Many times these things are licensed in bundles (especially likely if they all showed up on the service at the same time) and they may not have been able to repurchase the license. It wouldn’t surprise me if alot of that content is in flux with all the creators/businesses being killed/destroyed.

Is it possible they just decided to nix all that content during the moment in history it’s most likely to be viewed outside of its previously very small audience? Sure. It just feels like there’s probably something else going on here.

There are lots of articles where I go “I don’t give a shit.” And I keep it to myself and scroll on. This one makes me actually ask “Who gives a shit?” In a legitimately curious capacity.

Like of all the low stakes, nothing burger, things to ban or get concerned about being banned. It’s just too weird for my comprehension.

  • I mean, stadiums don’t stay permanent shelters. We use temporary housing pretty often for emergencies, but I could see it turning into “sanctuary city” like structure as well.

As long as it’s a temporary stop for the people in it, I think it’s ok. It should be safe and comfortable, but also not their best housing option. I would like to see the bottom floor permanently converted into satellite offices for social services as well to better serve these groups, with the goal of getting them the assistance to leave the structure ASAP.

  • Thank you! That was an informative article. It’s like we are giving them Raytheon gift cards every year. This makes sense, as it’s the military industrial complex doing what it do. More blood for the blood gods, etc.

What I think is interesting from the break down is how they are supposed only use it for defense, but then when we go “hey I don’t think you are using that for defense!” We don’t stop handing out the gift cards.

Also when we were struggling to get congressional approval to give them more gift cards, we let them raid our munitions cookie jar we had been storing with them in case we needed it for the past 40 years.

It sucks, but I can understand why the US is so reluctant to give up their only long term ally in the region, who’s supported us in our unreasonable conflicts against immense global backlash. We also use them to funnel more taxpayer money to military contractors which are spread all over the US, financially benefiting many states in the process.

As always it’s all about the money.

  • It is true. And that’s OK. Failure to change with the times and to learn from scientific advancements and social improvements is a conservative trait.

You are accurate, but it begs the question: Is not changing your opinions with time and new info a respectable way to live your life? Will you be on the right side of history? Who knows? But I feel like giving people more options is more often better than the alternative.

  • You’ve just misunderstood what freedom of speech is. The government won’t jail you for your opinions. You can say whatever you want that isn’t a threat or call to violence.

Let’s be real though. That’s why people get to call you names when they disagree with you. They also have that same protected speech.

Protesting is a thing you are doing while exercising your free speech. However, you can be doing 2 things at once. Exercising your free speech while committing the crime of trespassing, etc. That one right doesn’t make you legally immune to anything else you’re doing.

Of course, people commit crimes while protesting to give their protest some teeth, and in some cases to bring attention to the law they might be protesting. But you should be prepared to be fined and arrested during spicy protests. People sitting in the road acting shocked they get hit and dragged away just make me feel like I’m looking at too many shocked Pikachus. You should expect it. That’s why you are there. If you didn’t face violence you aren’t really showing how strongly you feel. That’s what it means to stand against opposition.
