OmsAnd can seem daunting for new users. I persevered because the map info is so detailed & it works offline. On a couple of occasions my family found ourselves in a new city in a foreign country in need of food etc & OsmAnd has had the info telling us exactly what we needed & where to go thanks to the dedicated community. It encouraged me to map my own city suburb in detail to help fellow travelers.

I also love its offline Wikipedia function.

If anyone is interested, even adding a park bench or litter bin helps & is quite simple with something like StreetComplete

Thats how i was taught too.

I also despair at people who have no idea what lane they should be in, for example traversing the entire roundabout in the left hand lane or whatever lane they decide will beat the traffic fastest so getting in the right hand lane to go straight on & cutting across everyone at their exit.

To be fair round my way the road planners appear to have a random approach to lanes with signs/markings saying use right hand lane for everything but left even at non-busy roundabouts so its little wonder people get confused.

Great machines, I use an NUC8i7 as our HTPC. Supports 4K 60fps. Got it hooked up to a Denon amp for Dolby Atmos. At some point i hope I’ll find time to look into Home Assistant, I’d use another NUC for running that.
