Mastodon. Easily better than Twitter in every way, even when it wasn’t full of garbage. Can’t say the same for Lemmy, it’s not bad, and in some ways better but in some ways worse.

They really are. Popcorn lung is a thing with vapers. Plus I don’t want to inhale their nasty nicotine on accident. They need to have some damn respect for people around them instead of blatant selfishness. That’s the line for me.
Look up popcorn lung. Vaping is not better than smoking.
It’s not a secret. Ask any medical professional and they’ll tell you about popcorn lung. Vaping is worse in many ways. Look, don’t suck non “air” into your lungs. Pollution is bad enough for us. We don’t need to make it worse.
I take issue with these: administrative assistants, public relations specialists, airline desk staff who calm passengers with lost luggage, middle management, leadership professionals.
These all exist because humans aren’t perfect. I haven’t read the book but it’s hard to believe the author knows anything about how businesses operate if he thinks a healthy one can be successful without those positions.
Ex. I work for a startup that is growing rapidly and doesn’t have administrative assistants for higher levels. For the most part it’s a disaster leading to a lot of wasted time without them being as productive as they could be. AAs have skills that the regional leaders do not. It’s a symbiotic relationship.
Great point!! And totally agree.
This. I’m in a high paying job now because of this mentality. Started literally at the bottom as a cart attendant in the late 90s. I don’t outperform others because I’m a bootlicker. I do it to challenge myself and grow.
People that put minimal effort in are hurting themselves more than the company.
Seems like a short lived plan. Just need to change laws so that Chinese owned vehicles have a tariff, no matter where they’re made. Of course, then they just create shell companies in the states/EU and the game of cat and mouse continues.
This is what happens with production revolutions. We did the same thing, as did England.
That’s an interesting one. In the US I haven’t found a store brand that was the same as Sensodyne. They’re all crap here comparatively.
Hard disagree. It is. It’s the root of most of humanities problems. I don’t know how you could think otherwise.
Israel wants Gaza so they’ve finally found a way to take it. That’s selfishness at the most root. Monopoly Capitalism is a higher level issue.
Right, humans are selfish. That’s the root problem.
I think I draw the line at killing anything that forms strong life long family bonds, this includes Elephants. We need to find another way to keep their numbers down.
This exactly. I was saying that as a user, not a creator. I make money away from social media so I don’t care to bring that to my personal space.
My experience has been better. User engagement is much higher per follower and the discussions don’t devolve. They’re much more useful and/or interesting. KPIs don’t measure everything.
And they spy on every citizen they have and jail them for innocuous things or jail them for being a certain race then hide it from the world and use them as slave labor. Yeah, they’re just a utopia.
Oh that’s fucking rich.
Israelis stage heavy airstrikes in Lebanon, Hezbollah launches drone attack on Israel
Lol, first thought I had. My company’s state president is an ex-pat from the UK and “loves America.”
No, it’s a waste of time and resources. Kids will find a way, they ALL do.
