Ok so, main migration appears to have gone well enough.
PICTRS/media is not loading, in testing it did fine. So now I’ll work on troubleshooting that aspect of Beehaw. For the time though, avatars and beehaw images won’t be loading. That’s expected for the moment,
Yeah, fighting with the DB has been about 70% of the delay in this process already. Other parts were dealing with pictrs and lemmy integration… still some things to be done, but I’m confident the migration will work well enough be have us operational on a newer version.

I refuse to compare tragedies with you. Israel is committing acts of genocide and inciting such. What was done in the past against them is not an excuse for what they are doing now to others. Scale is different, but a banana is a banana regardless of size.
Just because you repeat it doesn’t make it truth. You’re entitled to your opinion of the facts, but facts are facts.
Stop arguing the facts of Genocide that is being conducted with your opinion if if it is. Drop the conversation and move on.
13·27 days agoTouchscreens are the worst interface in a vehicle. But yes, Amercian law says all automobiles must have a backup camera installed as of 2018. I need and use a truck but I do just fine with a smaller Tacoma, which these days are basically a full size truck of yester-yore. These look nice, like the UTE style; but the 150 mile range would be an issue for me.
Sorry for that, this is the technology community though. PoC in tech has a different meaning than others, being Proof of Concept. Each community or in groups have their own acronyms even if it overlaps others. I did not think that acronym in this context needed clarification.

It wouldn’t work for the down voting, but has some easier extensibility if we wanted to fork and make it more for Beehaw. We’re hoping to work with Sublinks to get those mod and admin tools baked in from the start VS forking or the constant patch changes we do with Lemmy.
Any excuse to get more profits.
Would require frontend work and maybe some glue for the backend. I think the Photon Front end does some of those embeds. I’m sure there’s others, but not confident that any would work with Beehaw’s older Lemmy version. Better to spend energy on the sublinks convert, or my home-grown alternative Fediverse stack.
Actions on site and web traffic/use, behavior to Beehaw indicate suspicious users for our purposes. TOR and VPN use does increase those metrics/probability, but is not the sole determining reason.
Beehaw has not been under active attack, but we do have mitigations in place for suspicious users, based on activity which includes being on a VPN or TOR network.

I think it’s a combination. But kudos to the lemmy devs for improving the responsiveness of the front end for sure. It is a a noticeable improvement.
