They’re scared of losing the American security guarantee and this is what it costs them to create a comparable EU guarantee.

It depends a lot on the fan base. You can get cancelled by a group, but it doesn’t matter if your fan base doesn’t leave and you have thick skin.
It also depends on if you need a platform or not. If you need an external platform to maintain your fame, you need to bend to that platform. That said, a lot of platforms have low standards. If you can exist on your own platform and can maintain your fan base, you’re untouchable.

I generally care if a meme is more overused than if it is old.

Probably. The cost of serving a minute of phone call or an SMS text has gone down to the point where a lot of plans don’t really meter it. Plus, there is a cost to managing an account and it likely isn’t worth servicing a phone that’s only paying $1 a month.
Getting to a point of deterioration where suicide becomes a logical choice. That can be health, societal, or environmental.

I feel like if a town is able to be rented out despite local opposition, it is more a sign that the people complaining about the closures need to get more involved in local politics.

It fits somewhat with American sunbelt cities where there is significant growth and large developers building new houses. One issue which is common across borders is that real estate was a common way for people to invest their retirement savings; wiping out a lot of the savings of people near or at retirement isn’t healthy. One issue that is more local to China is that Chinese provinces and municipalities have little ability to raise taxes, so they’ve been using development as a way to raise money; a lot of these governments have a lot of debt and few good ways to pay it back.

The problem is that a lot of Chinese elderly used housing as a storage of wealth.

A lot of them come across as Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid. They have an incomplete understanding of China and also likely have legitimate reasons to not want to live where they are.

Russia does, it just hasn’t invested in it for at least 50 years. It doesn’t help that the Soviet Union became a petrostate back in the 1970’s and most of its infrastructure was built to serve the European market, which is in easy reach of Ukrainian drones.

Vinyl, since I’m buying something that can’t get replicated via other digital means.

It doesn’t have to be one big army, but it can be a big army designed to take care of the stuff that individual countries can’t. After all, it is unfair to put the financial burden to build out the expensive and necessary logistics on the large nations.

No, mainly because who else is really posting?

Yeah. If your company is looking that closely into your behavior, they are looking for an excuse instead of a reason.

Yes, this article isn’t. I’m talking about another study.
So you’re collecting collections.
Sure, but there was another comment here complaining about having to spend about 5% of the GDP to make up the difference.
