I don’t think I could blame someone for wanting to adopt a baby and not an older foster care kid who has had a lot of problems. People who do that are saints.

In the states, a significant bug infestation of any kind is a landlord problem.
I mean, men don’t live as long as women. Seems natural to focus on the group who has a bigger problem dying younger.
What a moron
Muslims do not generally believe in cultural or moral relativism. Allah is the one true God, his moral teachings are objectively correct. Why offer them a way out that they themselves aren’t able to coherently accept?
Besides, cultural relativism is nonsense. If someone tells me it’s okay to molest children, their perspective is not “just as valid” as mine. They’re a monster.
Yes, this means a lot of people in the past, and today, are monsters. That’s extremely plausible.
Here in the US I once went to the optometrist to get a new glasses prescription. While there I mentioned I was getting some new floaters in my eye and a little weird brightness. They took a look and found a tear in my retina, which can threaten your vision if you don’t get it taken care of quickly. My insurance company utterly refused to allow me to just schedule an appointment with the opthalmologist. First, I had to wait two weeks to see my general practitioner, then schedule an opthalmologist appointment after. It was three weeks before I saw a doctor who could fix the tear in my retina. Luckily it did not detach, but it absolutely could have.
Our piece of shit health insurance system just about half-blinded me for profit. Do not implement our monstrous system. It boggles my mind that British people would ever even think about it.
This sounds like a great idea to pass right before we elect a guy who’s promised to be a dictator.
Mine is entirely alt right “comedians” and helldivers 2. I’m pretty sure the algorithm thinks I wholeheartedly endorse the SuperEarth ideology.
The brutalizing effect is the opposite: by seeing this kind of violence, people are more likely to normalize it and engage in violence themselves. That’s the hypothesis, anyway.
The microwave is literally faster if you’re just making one cup of tea. Why should I sit around for a whole kettle to boil if I can just microwave one cup for two minutes? Plus it’s already in the container you’re going to drink it out of. Absolutely silly.
Does ublock origin even work with chrome on YouTube anymore? I switched to Firefox a couple months ago because, even after updating ublock origin, YouTube still detected that I was using an ad blocker and refused to show me content.
We should literally be doing everything AMLO is asking for, regardless of this deal. I know the guy is a bit of a blowhard, but it’s good that Mexico actually has a leader that has policy goals that benefit Mexico and the rest of Latin America, rather than an American stooge.
Thanks for the info!
I’m not a supporter of Israel but I keep seeing this claim. It seems disingenuous, though: is Israel supposed to avoid sending any aid into Gaza at all? If you want to send humanitarian aid, you’re always inadvertently helping the government of a place. Saying Israel funded Hamas suggests that Israel literally cuts checks to Hamas, the organization, which is misleading.
Of course, by this point any aid Israel has sent has been pretty well morally out balanced by their absolutely bloodthirsty attacks on Palestinian civilians.
Apparently commercially available solar panels are around 20% efficiency.

I don’t smoke but I love nicotine. Hope they don’t go too wild trying to regulate smokeless alternatives out of existence. Nicotine is a fun drug.
This is weird because lots of Amish communities let people have cell phones, you just can’t use it in the house.
Nothing? If forcibly taking people’s land doesn’t qualify as colonialism I don’t think anything does.
I’m not a supporter of Israel but do you have any source that supports this speculation? Seems irresponsible to bandy it about.
I’m kind of confused about exactly how this could escalate further, given that there are at least two countries between Iran and Israel. Israel isn’t going to send ground forces into Iran, and vice versa. And I’m doubtful that as bad as Israel is, they would nuke Iran. Where could it go beyond intermittently bombing each other?
