Maybe if they created an environment conducive to having kids, more people would have them. Failing and underfunded public education, increasingly expensive cost of childcare, lower standard of living. I could go on about climate and geopolitical uncertainty but you get the idea.

Idk why ppl are hating on this. We haven’t seen a large scale war in quite a while. And it’s not unheard of that companies cut corners in the US in the name of profits. Or that someone gives a bid to their friend/relative instead of the best company.

They tried tax incentives, workplace daycare, changing laws, literally everything besides making a society conducive to raising kids lol

That’s fair, she seemingly learned her lesson at the cost of her son’s life, so people shouldn’t pile on. But she is not getting an ounce of sympathy from me.

People keep talking about corporate real estate and how companies need ppl in offices or the value would crash. But wouldnt the company stand to benefit in the long run by just biting the bullet on the remainder of their lease, not renew, and go 100% remote? Or at least drastically downsize.

Would that not save millions in overhead, lease payments, etc into the future? Or do they have 30 year lease agreements or something?

Idk. If you only wanted to speak out about it and not get a forced apology then I wouldn’t go. You could message the manager and let them know you didn’t want an apology but just wanted to say something about it and that it was upsetting and just letting them know was enough for you.
