The brothers are still under investigation and face trial on allegations of rape and trafficking minors, all of which they deny.

There’s no way they’ll return to Romania, and I don’t expect the US will extradite them. Aren’t they wanted for offences here too?

They are indeed wanted in the UK. I too don’t believe they will be extradited to the UK for those cases. Looks like the brothers got at least 4 years of freedom on American soil.

Or they’re used as a bargaining chip by the US.

This has also been my speculation, but it seems there a civil lawsuit in the US, from a Floridian victim.

From the FT on the 17th of February (paywalled):

More context in this post which cites a Romanian source.

Thanks for that. Looks like the US doesn’t have enough nonces, so they decided to import more. I’m sure the American people will love that.

We just need to wait four years, then we’ll have a go at extraditing them. I’m sure a new administration would be happy to get rid of them, but it does mean they’ll be straight back to making the Big Web even more toxic.

Is that a Trump bargaining chip before the talks with Starmer?

Maybe not Starmer related, just asshole related. Some sources saying their appeal was successful:

Wild to see the GC self-proclaimed feminists like Rowling championing Trump when he is literally bringing the face of misogynist influencer culture into his inner circle. Actual feminists have been warning about this for years.
